This book is full of really useful info, such as a timeline of when things happened with Big Band music. This was great for getting an idea of what the influences of the time were and how they impacted Big Band music.

It also talks about the techniques used for writing the instrument parts and how they recorded the instruments at the time.

This was useful for my track, as it made the trumpet section more coherent.
