         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><ul><li>Many Sought religious freedom- Different groups of religions settled in different parts of America </li></ul><div>Separatists- Plymouth<br>Quakers- Pennsylvania<br>Puritans- Massachusetts<br>Anne Hutchinson followers- New Hampshire and Maine</div><ul><li>Many Sought riches</li></ul><div>Virginia Company (London company)- Jamestown<br>English immigrants- Caribbean (Sugar)</div><ul><li>Sought Military advantages</li></ul><div>Settlers led by James Oglethorpe- Georgia</div><div><br>* Many colonists sought religious freedom, thus settled away from where they were persecuted/ where other religions were. <br>*Some regions of the south and the Caribbean became regionally different because of a draw from profitable crops/ agriculture (there was also a need for slave labor in these regions, creating more regional differences). </div><div>*There were obvious regional differences in the areas where Europeans took over and areas where Indians remained.<br>*There were also regional differences in between groups of settlers influenced by the specific cultures and beliefs of where they were from;<br>           -Spanish<br>           -Dutch<br>           -Swedish<br>          -German <br>          -etc.<br><br>Below is an example of two groups who have vast regional differences, native Americans and the English</div>]]></description>
