Mark was born on July 21, 1980, in Chicago, to Anne Wilthew, Kirsten Horne, and Chynna Burney. He was a 1998 graduate from Lake Forest Academy and from University of Washington in 2006. He married his high school sweetheart, Ashley, on January 21, 2002 in Seattle. He worked as a neurologist for 35 years at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Although him and his wife Ashley never had children, they spent most of their time volunteering at local shelters. With the death of Mark, he leaves behind his loving wife, his best friend Ben, and his guru buddies that he would meditate with occasionally.
