But no, I don't think the system can deliver justice. I appreciated what Kaba said in the book about accountability and consequences. The ways in which Marissa was failed by the system--and all of us who benefit from it--was consistent and deplorable and seems reserved for Black Indigenous and some POC women in dehumanizing ways specific to the U.S. context.
