Ke Huy Quan's Oscar speech, where he referenced his Vietnamese refugee story, is about belonging. At that moment, he proudly represented Vietnamese refugees and forever preserved our story in American culture. My story as a Vietnamese American is rooted in hope, resilience, bravery, invisibility, cultural erasure, talent, imagination, intersectionality, preservation, and joy.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is the window and mirrors we need, and the result is pure JOY.

To help other people belong, I believe we must pay attention and show genuine interest in those who are most not seen, represented, and are marginalized/oppressed.
