1. Pick a person to start the story, they have a maximum of 1 minute 30seconds to speak and then they have to say the name of who they want to carry on the story next.

2. Carry on this procedure for each person in the group.

3. The group has a total of 10 minutes to tell a story and to conclude it.

If you want to make things harder choose a genre and decide whenever you want someone to stop and move on to the next person by clapping.

Zoom Village (wolf / mafia)

SO i'm sure a lot of people are familiar with the CLASSIC drama game of mafia / wolf. Well this is the adapted zoom version. Both mafia and zoom are practically the same but with a few adjustments - this is based off of the 'wolf' version.

This game is for any medium to large size group. The duration of the game will be longer the more people that are involved.

The objective of the game for the villagers is to kill the wolves.

The objective of the game for the wolves is to not be found out and kill the villagers.

It'll start with a game leader being assigned (by Chris / by volunteering) - Chris could be the game leader if he has access to messaging us.

After a game leader is assigned, everyone will either close their eyes OR turn their cameras off (i think the latter is safer) - this represents the village 'going to sleep'. The only person to not turn their camera off is the game leader who will message someone / a group of people of their choosing telling them they are the wolf / wolves and asking them who they would like to kill.

For some extra fun roles that make the game even MORE fun:

The Doctor - who is able to save one person each round but never the same person twice (can also save themselves).
The Soothsayer - Who is able to ask the game leader if someone is the wolf and the game leader has to be honest.
The Village Idiot - who is also able to ask the game leader if someone is the wolf but the game leader can LIE to them!

The game leader would message all these people each round with their questions.

Once the game leader has received messages back from everyone then they will tell everyone to turn their cameras back on and the game leader will pronounce who is dead (if anybody).

Then everyone has a strict one minute to discuss who they think the wolf is and come to a majority decision by doing a thumbs up reaction on the zoom call so it’s clear to see (note: FOR A HARDCORE VERSION OF THE GAME, the vote will only go through if it is a 100% unanimous decision). If they come to a majority decision then that person they have chosen will die. The game leader will ask if they are a wolf or not, to which they will tell the answer. Then the game will continue / repeat that structure.

Each round the game leader will tell the wolves how many people they can kill (between 1-3) - if it's played in a smaller group they can only kill 1 per round.

If there is only one / two wolves to begin with more wolves could be added throughout if in a larger group (no more than 4/5 ideally).

The game ends when all the wolves are dead / the wolves killed all the villagers.

RULES:

Everyone must have the sound on their phone off throughout the game so we can’t hear people typing / getting messages. (it's easier than muting and un-muting i reckon?)

If we wanted to make it extra sNaZzY we could swap the names to something more fitting with technology and video calling?? For example the wolf would be a hacker..?

BUT that is ZOOM VILLAGE!!

Zoom "FETCH"

One person each round is set as the `"Fetch" master. They ask everyone in the meeting to "Fetch" an item they say.
The first person to "Fetch" an item becomes the "Fetch" master.
Repeat until first person to 3 points.
"Fetch" Master must be specific, cop out items can be counted as a win if justified well.

This term has been an immense challenge and learning curve for me (as well to us all) about how to continue to develop and grow new skills under new and unusual circumstances.

One skill i'm incredibly pleased to have learned is how to film, and use editing software to create work i'm proud of and I would love to pursue this skill even further in the future!.
I've also been afraid of screen acting my whole life and to work on this scene with Chris has given me so much more confidence with this field. I'm now excited to go and do more!

Bonjour , hola , hello.
This term has been pretty challenging to say the least , but we’ve overcome it together (cringe) and weirdly enough its been the term I’ve improved most in.

My character building skills have definitely improved during this project. If you had told me last term I’d write a complete teaching blog from the point of view of a pregnant woman in her twenties , I’d probably believe you , but still , my character and his wife (Soph and Toph) have gone from four lines to:
Two short films
A day in life video
A teaching blog
And me in my garden dressed as a pregnant lady in a black wig.
One skill I’d definitely love to carry on developing would be my editing as I’ve had such a blast playing around with different shots. And I'm excited to see where it takes me next

This term has been 'unique', if that’s the right word. But it has honestly pushed me creatively to do things that I wouldn’t ever think of doing before lockdown.

Thanks to this term I have gained skills such as: being able to film myself in different angles and shots whilst acting to create a meaningful performance, knowing how to edit film, how to do a voiceover and using my voice effectively to create a story/ a world, learning how to make a short/film documentary, discovering that there are different genres of filming and much more.

The skill I have gained and would like to develop is voiceovers. I never imagined that I would be able to use my voice to create a powerful and meaningful story. So I would like to see where voice acting would lead me to.

It’s been a great way to end the year! I appreciate this opportunity for me to learn so much.

WOW!!! I was so nervous coming into this lockdown term!!
I’ve not had very much experience in filming, and a little experience in editing (I had a childhood YouTube channel).
Over this term I have learned good shots, creative film-making, making short films, new editing techniques, and how to translate a character through screen.
I can’t wait to take this knowledge with me and it’s made me want to make more short films. It has inspired me to make short films that might help another person through something (I love to help people).
I’m hoping to do lots more screen acting in the future.
It’s been a journey.

wow what a journey this has been, right?

Before this term I always viewed myself as just an actor but being pushed outside of this actor box i’d put myself and being challenged to write, direct, edit, produce and act in my short films showed me that I can be capable of so much more than I held myself to.

I would love to continue making shorts to develop the skills I learnt during this term.

It’s been really fun lads, can’t wait to see where the future takes us!
