Hello Emily,

I enjoyed your post about digital business, and using the retail clothes shopping experience as a great medium to describe how digital business is changing up our every day routine. When I read your article I couldn't help thinking of IOT (Internet of Things) and how pretty soon, everything will be connected, such as a purse or a necklace. I got a good picture from your description of the shopping experience, and I think it would be great if there was a digital response to how you try things on, or basically infusing the digital views with the physicality of trying on clothes.

Overall, I liked your post, and how it kept it basic and truly explained digital business and how it is expanding every aspect of our lives.

Ms. Noye,

First I would like to get out of the way, could you please either email or provide the link of the article, I would be interested in reading it, it seems to be something interesting to me.

Now that is out of the way, I enjoyed your post and thank you for it.

I agree with you and the article and that also validates the information in my post, that being the fact that there is a definite “digital divide” and it gets wider every day. I enjoy and took note of the four pillars and am going to research them and integrate them into my management skills. Also, it only makes sense that if someone joins the digital space capabilities and those pillars would be successful.

I like the second portion because I know that there is an obvious problem with traditional retailers but I was unaware prior to research that it is largely because of the reluctance to join the digital world. We all need to learn to change, mold and move quickly to keep up with the world around us.

Thank you for the post!

Joshua L. I believe it is an exciting prospect, in that it will create new jobs and will make things easier to do at a faster pace. More and more companies should start to follow these "trends" or I fear they will be left behind.

Social media existed before Facebook, and Facebook is currently being challenged by other social media outlets like Instagram. Uber was first, but Lyft feels they can do a better job. I feel the author is missing the point that, like the example of the first pay-at-the-pump gas station, the fact that they pioneered the idea or technology doesn't guarantee they will always stay in first place.

Similarly, (without even realizing I was doing it) I too viewed digital advancement as a threat to the "little guys" in the business world. It seems that the ones that aren't able to stay afloat are quick to blame their lack of success on the "digital behemoths" out there. When in reality (as you put it) taking speed, efficiency and quality into consideration combined with "customer is always right" mentality would be a start to embracing the digital business world.

I love that you brought up how critical everyone is when new technology is released, business or not. Our society as a whole expects so much from our new technologies. Look at the advancements that are made and some people still seem to not be happy. I love the 5 technologies the article gave. Virtual reality is a great example they gave. I think this will be great for how customer experience is changed. I see it playing a big role in the future especially in retail, like the article mentioned.

I found your article interesting because they pointed out some good points and good things to look for. The article you picked makes you look at businesses different and if you think about building your own its things you have to look at before it sneak up on you with a change in the technology world. This article was really helpful.

Jorge Lorenzo
Your article was very interesting and I thought it was quite synonymous to the article that I chose, "Digital disruption has only just begun". It really hit the nail on the head on the notion that business is becoming more and more technology dependent. I think it's interesting that business is starting to be, for companies at least, you either adapt to new technological changes, or be run-over by someone else who will.

John Shuler
I found your post, and related article to be very informative. Seeing real, applied changes in such an established industry is very interesting. Cutting out a lab for instance, and producing crowns "in-house", speeds up the process for a patient, and as technology advances may even be cheaper! You no longer have to pay lab technicians or for transportation costs. To embrace new technology like that allows for greater customer satisfaction, and may help lead to a larger market share. As stated, there are companies going out of business, and that business goes elsewhere.

Giang Nguyen
I had the same thought with you when I just started this assignment. I thought any disruption would be negative. But after I had some searches on the internet, I found something interesting about digital business. that was what I had in my post. it is true that the ways of doing businesses are so different now compared to couple decades ago. the businesses have to adopt new technologies and have some changes if they want to survive through this competitive world of business.

Aubrey,

I’m also a huge online shopper and I often have a lot of problems trying to find the lowest price between different stores. I usually will go to about 4 different stores/websites and compare prices to make sure that I’m not overpaying, but between the ‘flash’ sales and special limited time offers it’s difficult some times to see how much everything all. While I enjoy saving money, it sometimes feels like a game of roulette and seeing things like limited time promotions always popping up in my email turns me off from wanting to buy from them. Having online shopping I think is a great idea, but I think that sometimes having a little more moderation with sales would make it less of a headache for customers.
