Some tones are that he is calm, scared, and happy. For the tone calm it states, " Your father will be working next to you we were lucky. Two boys came to join our group Yossi and Tibi, two brothers from Czechoslovakia...they quickly became my friends." The theme to never lose faith is shown by many characters in this story. One being the main character, Elie. Although he faces many challenges in this story, he never loses hope. I think it was better, because Ellie is currently still alive in the story and so is his father, but not so much for his Mom and Younger Sister. It shows that eventually, Elie was able to over come the horrors of the holocaust. My evidence for the flash forward is when Elie finds the woman who had helped him in Buma after the Kapo had attacked him. This happens many years after the Holocaust.
