The tone in the story "Night" is always changing because of what is happening in the labor camps. Some tones are that he is calm, scared, and happy. For the tone calm it states, " Your father will be working next to you we were lucky. Two boys came to join our group Yossi and Tibi, two brothers from Czechoslovakia...they quickly became my friends." This relates back to the theme because it shows that he is getting a little bit used to being in the camp." Another tone is when he was getting beat up by Idek in the labor camps, this makes Elie scared because he didn't do anything and he got beat up.

In the story "Night" by Elie Wiesel. The theme to never lose faith is shown by many characters in this story. One being the main character, Elie. Although he faces many challenges in this story, he never loses hope. One piece of evidence is "Two people to a bunk. Good night. Those were the first human words. No sooner had we climbed into our bunks and fell into a deep sleep."

Was it better for Ellie and his family to leave on the last train out to the Concentration Camps?
I think it was better, because Ellie is currently still alive in the story and so is his father, but not so much for his Mom and Younger Sister. Ellie and everyone else in his family could have all been dead by this point in the story if they had taken the first trains or another train other then the one that they were on.

Literary Devices by Brenda

One literary device that supports the theme is a flash forward. It shows that eventually, Elie was able to over come the horrors of the holocaust. My evidence for the flash forward is when Elie finds the woman who had helped him in Buma after the Kapo had attacked him. This happens many years after the Holocaust. This shows that Elie never lost faith of escaping the holocaust, and eventually, he did escape.
