People were more affluent which meant they had money and belongings and didn't complain about life, values, property. Cities were growing, shopping malls were created, cars. People were opposed to govt control thought. African Americans did not see the same prosperity. Schools were being desegregated. Some schools just closed instead of allowing blacks. Rosa Parks was an active activist before the bus boycott. Civil Rights movement began. It is interesting that there are things in his books that at the time he wrote It didn't have meaning however years later it does have meaning. My favorite robot on the list is the moley home kitchen everyone wishes someone else could clean up after meals wash dishes and make meals for them and this robot does that. It did surprise me that technology causes pollution.
