Uncertain of which cake to bake for my 30th birthday party I decided to combine two of my favorite cakes, which are the world famous America’s Red Velvet and the Latins favorite Tres Leches. Despite it seem a difficult task to achieve, I worked up within my knowledge to successfully come up with an excellent red velvet tres leches recipe. This creation of mine was pretty well received by my Birthday’s party guests regardless of it being baked for the first time, they didn’t even believe that this sort of delicious dessert could ever be made by me. Moreover on further special occasions, in which I were invited or witch I hosted, the people would spect that I would show up with this cake. Although for a long time I thought It was my signature dessert, further research demonstrated that I was not the first one coming up with the idea of baking a Red Velvet Tres Leches.

Chemical Engineer within a world full of changes.

Ever since I started my professional career as a chemical engineer, I been blessed with the opportunity of working on multidisciplinary fields of engineering. Not only I had work as an environmental, corrosion or process engineer on an international iron refinery plant located in Venezuela and which export steel to the overseas, but I also had work as the project manager assistant on the settlement and startup of a hormone pharmaceutical plant in Chile. Despite having multiple roles on different fields of engineering I would say that in every single one of them I had to know how to handle and even lead projects or processes within then, so having this opportunity became an in handy and desirable skill to have. In the view of the fact that employers are prompted to choose candidates with project management backgrounds, altogether with the adaptation process that all companies are undergoing because of the rapid changes happening across the globe, one’s resume should highlight the project managing skills.

There was a time in witch not every person knew about the formats and the differences between each type of running races, despite of being obvious for a runner, a regular person would not mind asking to a 10km racer about how well one did on the “marathon”. According with my personal experience and with my interaction with other runners everyone agrees that was common that non runners, regardless of the competition distance, would refer to any race as a marathon race; even I as a beginner believed that I competed on several 10km marathons even though a marathon is a long-distance race with an official distance of 42.195 kilometres, and usually run on a road race format.
Did you ever refereed to any race with a distance different than 42.195km as a marathon?

One day while in childhood I was with my mother while she was doing some daily errands, and by chance we went into to the towns club in which I realized from the inside of the glass wall panoramic soundproof room we were in that on the outside there were lots of kids at the pool and adults cheering them, at the moment that made me feel not only full of joy but also lots curiosity about it, And I wanted to be there as well. Needless to say that every childish attempt to get me to the pool were futile, my mom was pretty busy and in a hurry so she promised to take me there any other day but today.
The image that I had overlook through the soundproof panoramic office were printed into my mind.
Several days later, as my mom promised, I got myself into swimming clases for kids, but the happiness didn’t last long, as it was expected parents also have to attend or stand by the class for security reasons. So she couldn’t keep on taking me to the swimming lessons.
Even though a lot of years passed by and many other reasons such as constant movings, living too far away of a pool or a busy college life kept me away from getting into practicing swimming, I did never ever forgot about my childhood unfulfilled desire, and even as and adult I had determined myself to get into swimming.
Then as soon as I got my degree and stablished myself on a good company I started to attend to swimming lessons everyday after work and I even mastered all the styles but back-stroke. Having achieved my unfulfilled desire I realized that it was worthy to wait for the moment to come, that is why now I’m looking forward to get established again before going back to swimming.
Did you ever accomplished in adulthood something that you could have not fulfill as a child?
