Every day, as you walk to school you pass by an old, abandoned house. No one has lived in it for years. It was painted black, for some reason. Parts of it are falling down, and many of the windows are broken. Sometimes, you hear strange noises coming from the house, and at night, you see flashing lights. But no one has ever gone in or come out. The other kids in the neighbourhood say that it's haunted by ghosts. Or maybe gangsters use it as a secret base. No one has been brave enough to go in and see. For some reason, you decided to take a bet that you will spend one night in the scary house. It's 8pm. The sun has gone down. You are scared and anxious because it is almost midnight, there is lightning, and you are alone. You decide to walk into the house. Your torch starts to flicker. You hear screams weird noises, as if someone is calling your name. Your torch stopped working so you turned on the lights, but the lights didn't last long either. They started flickering and stopped working. It was dark and scary. You saw creepy objects moving. You shout at the top of your throat "GHOSTS!" You turn around to run to the door. The doors were locked. You panic. The lights turn on again. You slowly turn around to see your friends. They set up a prank for you. You felt angry and mad at your friends but not for long. You tried opening it, but it was stuck. You tried to look for another exit and enter the living room on the way. The room was really dirty, rats were running around, furniture was torn apart and there were a few creepy paintings all over the walls. While looking at the paintings you hear a weird noise upstairs. You freak out curiosity takes over and you decide to go upstairs and take a look. You walk upstairs and see long corridor. You see an open door with the light shining through it and a moving shadow. You get scared and run back to the first floor, jump out of the window and run away leaving the mystery of the house behind...
