My grandfather immigrated to Los Angeles from Jalisco when he was 11 years old and my grandmother immigrated to Los Angeles as well from Juarez when she was 9 years old. We don't follow too many Mexican traditions but when our family gets together, it is very obvious how much Mexican blood runs through our veins. We are at a point where we are reaching equality, but there are still so many people in the world who are close-minded and will only ever see things through a misogynistic point of view. The world, as beautiful as it may be, still has so much room to grow.
