One fear I want to work on is the worry that I won't be able to meet my own expectations and provide appropriate guidance for the EXCOs. The steps I will take to manage this fear is to:

I will ensure to do check ins with the EXCOs as regularly as I can (monthly if possible) together with my co TL if she is up for it! I can also give them encouragements throughout the term + remind them that we are always open to help them!

I will keep track of my check-ins either in my PMs with my co TL or in my notebook -- the check ins may include simple things like how they have been coping with work or MHC projects

I will also gather feedback from the EXCOs or even members if there is anything lacking in the way I lead the team (or make my own observations by reflecting after each meeting)

One goal I wish to achieve is to learn to plan the timeline and workplan for the term while taking into consideration different factors.

I will observe the past team leads in their element (eg. during EXCO trainings, check ins with them) & gather their advice in our group chat about decisions my co TL and I are to make (eg. bringing our discussions to the group chat & summarising our discussion and our learning points from the discussion)

Done throughout the term

(hard to put a timeline on it as life does happen and my introverted social battery is a thing, extroverts help me out pls)

For the EXCO meetings I'm planning, I'll want to create a fun segment but also a bonding segment (more like HTHT kind)

Of course socialising shouldn't be forced and its up to vibes but I wanna create the best environment to have the best chance of making friendships possible (classic INFP answer iykyk)

My fear is that i get swarmed by my various commitments. This I attribute it to not actively taking stock of my life's happening. So the long term goal for me will be to Engage in enriching activities through my term. SMART Goals wise

Able to keep my calendar updated 70% of the time by June, and 80% of the time by Nov. (check - in on sunday to see if my events are updated if it is not then it counts as a failed week :(, if it is updated then yay it is a good week)

Say 'No'. Able to keep my 2-3 days each week as flexible days 60% of the time by May and 70% of the time by Aug, 80% of the time by Nov.

My goal to build an inclusive cluster. I view this as through my conversations and the initiatives that I do to promote a space where we can be more understanding of one another

Listen to understand reciprocally in 70% of conversations I have by Sep, and 80% by Nov

Curate 4 experiences for the cluster to chill and bond with one another by Nov (and ofc should be hearing good things bout it ah... if bad things then no count)

Educate on working with different demographics via 2 bite sized sessions (60% increased awareness will be good)

My fear is that I start to see MHC as another task in my to-do list as I tend to do that when I have too many things to do. The problem here then is that it takes away the joy of volunteering and I forget the reason why I chose this.

It is honestly hard to have specific measures to tackle this because it is more of a personality thing but I will try to constantly remind myself of why I even started this journey.

Being able to say ‘No’, but more to myself. I may take on more than I am able to, simply because I view some stuff as interesting or great learning experiences. I have to remind myself that I can’t do everything all at once. A good gauge is to ensure that I operate with at least 20% slack in my schedule and energy.

My goal is to get the most of out my term, be it mental health literacy, friendships or skills.

I want to be a better mental health advocate in my life. This can be done through more facilitation practice, intentionally reading up on mental health resources, participating in trainings etc. At least 3 of these.

Maybe I won’t quantify the number of friends I wish to have hahaha but I hope to forge friendships that will continue.

For content creation, I aim to do at least 1 video, 1 post and ofc the Heartstrings Newsletter.
