Wild World

Madagascar is unique: 5% of all known animal and plant species can be found here, and here alone. The island's signature animal is the lemur of course, but there are many more weird and wonderful creatures and plants: baobabs, insects, sharks, frogs, orchids, palms, birds, turtles, mongoose. The list goes on. Much of this biodiversity is under threat, from climate change and population pressure, giving each trip a sense of urgency but also purpose: tourism can truly be a force for good.

Epic Landscapes

The remarkable fauna and flora is matched by epic landscapes of an incredible diversity: you can go from rainforest to desert in just 300km. Few places on Earth offer such an intense kaleidoscope of nature. There are sandstone canyons, limestone karsts, mountains, fertile hills cascading with terraced rice paddies, forests of every kind – rain, dry, spiny – and a laterite-rich soil that gave the country its nickname of 'Red Island'. With 5000km of coastline, the sea is never very far, turquoise and idyllic in places, dangerous in others.

Island Adventures

For those who relish an adventure, Madagascar is a one-of-a-kind destination: the off-road driving is phenomenal, there are national parks that only see a few hundred visitors a year, regions that live in autarky during the rainy season and resorts so remote you’ll need a private plane or boat to get there. There are also more activities than you'll have time for: hiking, diving, mountain biking, kitesurfing, rock-climbing, you name it. Oh, and there are plenty of natural pools, beaches and hammocks on which to recover, too.

Cultural Insights

Madagascar has been populated by successive waves of migrants from various corners of the Indian Ocean. It is unlike anywhere else in Africa or Asia. There are fantastic sights to discover this unique history, but also numerous opportunities to meet local people via village stays, long-distance trails, festivals, taxi-brousse (bush taxis) and Friday night discos.

Paris, France

5 of the best places to visit in Paris

1. Eiffel Tower

What would Paris be without the Eiffel Tower? Built by Gustave Eiffel to commemorate the centennial of the French Revolution, it was unveiled at the 1889 Paris Universal Exposition. Standing 324 meters tall, it's one of the most visited monuments in the world, attracting nearly 7 million people annually.

The first floor houses the 58 Tour Eiffel restaurant, spanning two floors, 58 meters above ground, as its name suggests. On the second floor, at 115 meters high, the view is even better, offering a clear perspective of the ground below. Finally, on the 3rd floor, at 275 meters, you can see what Gustave Eiffel's office was like.

2. Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral

One of Paris's greatest symbols: Notre-Dame de Paris, also known simply as Notre-Dame, is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in the eastern part of Île de la Cité. It's considered one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture, both in France and Europe. Begun in 1163 and completed in 1345, this cathedral is a spectacle with its flying buttresses, its sculpted doorways, and its numerous gargoyles adorning the roof.

We recommend visiting the surroundings of the cathedral, and then exploring its interior and climbing the 387 steps to the top of the towers. The climb can be tiring but is quite rewarding thanks to the breathtaking panoramic view of the region. Furthermore, you can see the gargoyles up close.

3. Louvre Museum

The Louvre is the most visited art museum in the world. Located in the heart of Paris, this historic monument is a former royal palace. It spans an area of 210,000 m², of which 60,600 m² are dedicated to exhibitions.

The museum is housed in the "Palais Louvre," originally a fortress built in the late 12th century under the reign of Philip II. Remains of the fortress can be seen in the museum's basement. In 1682, with Louis XIV choosing the Palace of Versailles as his royal residence, the Louvre primarily served to display the royal collection. During the French Revolution, the National Assembly decreed that the Louvre would be used to exhibit the Nation's masterpieces. Inaugurated on August 10, 1793, its collection gradually expanded, especially under the reigns of Napoleon, Louis XVIII, Charles X, and during the Second French Empire.

The collection is divided into eight departments:

* Egyptian Antiquities

* Near Eastern Antiquities

* Greek, Etruscan, and Roman Antiquities

* Islamic Art

* Sculptures from the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and Modern Times

* Decorative Arts

* Paintings

* Prints and Drawings

4. Champs-Élysées – Arc de Triomphe

Under the charm of ancient Roman architecture, Napoleon commissioned Jean Chalgrin to build a triumphal arch dedicated to the glory of the imperial armies. Built in the 19th century, the arch is currently the largest monument of its kind in the world. The pillars are adorned with impressive sculptures. Furthermore, the names of 558 generals, as well as great victories, are engraved on the upper part of the arch. Beneath the Arc de Triomphe lies the tomb of the "Unknown Soldier of France."

A panoramic terrace at the top of the arch offers a beautiful view of Paris. With a height of 50m, a width of 45m, and a depth of 22m, the arch is located in the "Place de l'Etoile," which leads to the Champs-Élysées.

The Champs-Élysées avenue is known as the "most beautiful avenue in the world." It's 1.9km long and lies between the Place de la Concorde and the Arc de Triomphe. It features various luxury boutiques (Louis Vuitton, Guerlain, Cartier, Montblanc...), entertainment venues (Lido, cinemas), cafes, and restaurants (Fouquet's).

5. Seine River Cruise

What's the best way to visit the "City of Light" if not by cruising the Seine at night? As the sun sets, monuments gradually light up. You get a close-up panorama to delight in the beauty of Paris: the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Pont Alexandre III, and more.

You can also enjoy a dinner cruise aboard a glass-enclosed boat. For about two hours, while savoring a fine meal, people appreciate the most beautiful views of Paris.

The Vatican, officially known as the Vatican City State, is the smallest independent state in the world, both in area and population. Located within the city of Rome, Italy, the Vatican is the headquarters of the Catholic Church and the official residence of the Pope, the spiritual leader of over a billion Catholics around the world.

Officially established in 1929 with the signing of the Lateran Treaty between the Holy See and the Kingdom of Italy, the Vatican is a religious, cultural, and historical center of immense importance. It houses priceless artistic and architectural treasures, such as St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel — famous for Michelangelo’s frescoes — and the Vatican Museums, which contain centuries of Western civilization’s art and history.

Despite its tiny size, the Vatican wields significant global influence through diplomacy and religious doctrine. The Pope, in addition to being a head of state, is also a prominent political and moral figure, often involved in discussions on peace, social justice, the environment, and human rights.

The Vatican has its own administration, security forces (such as the Swiss Guard), postal system, radio station, and official currency (the euro, with its own coin minting). It is governed by a theocratic system in which the Pope holds supreme authority.

As a symbol of the Catholic faith, the Vatican continues to attract millions of pilgrims and tourists every year, serving as a link between the past and present of the Christian tradition, as well as a place of reflection, spirituality, and religious

power.

Mexico has consistently ranked among the world's most frequented nations, as documented by the World Tourism Organization. Second only to the United States in the Americas, Mexico's status as a premier tourist destination is underscored by its standing as the sixth-most visited country globally for tourism activities, as of 2017.Being one of the tourist attractions:

1. Ruins of Palenque:

The ruins of Palenque are one of Mexico's main tourist attractions, yet another remnant of Mayan culture and society. There is a crypt of a Mayan personality, King Pakal, and the whole site tells ancestral stories with its architecture and natural environment.

In Palenque there is an almost exclusive combination of natural beauty and ancient architecture that is well worth seeing, both for its beauty and its priceless historical value. The great Mayan projects and their main pyramid structures blend in with the natural environment.

2. Ruins of Chichén Itzá:

Where the ruins of Chichén Itzá stand today was one of the main cities of the Americas before European colonization. This is the land of immense pyramids, in the traditional square style of the ancient peoples. There are so many relics that the archaeological site is one of the most sought-after in the world.

If you're looking at Mexico and wondering what to do, this is a destination to consider. There you can find historical fragments of courthouses, temples and observatories maintained by the Mayans.

3. Water Hierve:

Considered one of the most beautiful places in all of Mexico, Hierve El Agua is a petrified waterfall that forms the most beautiful images and a truly stunning environment. It's practically a natural terrace, a rooftop with a swimming pool that offers a beautiful view and natural water to bathe in.

I’d like to visit Texas someday. It’s a big state in the south of the US and has a bit of everything — cities, nature, history, and cool stuff to see.

First, there’s Austin, which is the capital. People say it’s the “Live Music Capital of the World” and there are some big festivals like SXSW. It also has some chill parks, lakes, and food trucks with good food.

Then there’s San Antonio, where I could check out the Alamo, which is a famous historic place. The River Walk looks nice too — it’s full of lights, restaurants and places to hang out.

Dallas and Houston are also pretty famous. Dallas has a cool skyline and a museum about JFK. Houston has NASA stuff, like the Space Center, where you can see rockets and space things.

Texas also has nature, like Big Bend National Park, deserts, and some beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. So yeah, lots of different places to explore.

Overall, Texas seems like a cool place with music, food, history, and fun. I think it would be a nice trip.

Rio de Janeiro is the place where the tide takes you to the heart of Brazil and drowns you in its vast culture. The breezes blow the magic of the place towards you, a beautiful, remarkable, natural and above all, lively place. Rio is one of the largest, if not the largest tourist spot in the country, the city has a great influence on culture, economy and politics, being the second largest metropolis in the country. Some of the main attractions of the capital are:

🗽 Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) - High above Rio, arms open wide, Christ the Redeemer stands as a symbol of peace, hope, and welcome. Built by hearts and hands from Brazil to Europe, it’s more than a statue — it’s the soul of a city. Located at the top of Corcovado Mountain, inside the Tijuca National Park, in Rio de Janeiro

⛰️ Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain) - Rising from the edge of the sea, Pão de Açúcar is Rio’s natural crown — a granite giant watching over the city. From its peak, the world unfolds in every direction, where sky, ocean, and mountains meet in breathtaking harmony. Located in the Urca neighborhood, halfway between the beaches of Botafogo and Leme.

🏖 Rio's Beaches - Rio’s beaches, like Copacabana and Ipanema, line the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil — specifically along Avenida Atlântica and Avenida Vieira Souto. Nestled between the blue Atlantic Ocean and the dramatic peaks of the city, these shores are where Rio’s spirit comes alive: music, movement, and golden sunsets blending into everyday life.

🌆 Mirante Dona Marta (Dona Marta Viewpoint) - Mirante Dona Marta is a stunning viewpoint located in the Santa Teresa neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, at 362 meters above sea level. Sitting between the Christ the Redeemer statue and the bay, it offers one of the city’s most breathtaking views — with Sugarloaf Mountain, Guanabara Bay, and the Maracanã Stadium all in sight. It’s where Rio unfolds in silence, beauty, and awe.

🕍 Museu do Amanhã (Museum of Tomorrow) - The Museu do Amanhã, located at Praça Mauá, 1 in Rio’s Centro, is a stunning futuristic museum by the water. Its soaring design and interactive exhibits invite visitors to explore science, sustainability, and the future of our planet.

Must-go places 🇮🇸

Gulfoss Waterfalls ⛲

A ride along the Golden Circle in the south of Iceland will show you the breathtaking Gullfoss Waterfall. There you traverse a narrow path providing close-up views of the massive, two-tiered waterfall below. In winter, the view is spectacular when the waterfall freezes over into undulating waves of glistening ice. On sunny days you are treated to thousands of rainbows, a natural reaction with the clouds of spray from the tumbling falls.

Þingvellir National Park 🏞

On a visit to Þingvellir discover the original home of Iceland’s parliament. Established in the tenth century, the Alþing is widely recognised as the oldest parliament in the world. And it first took place here, on this rugged and expansive landscape.

Þingvellir also boasts Iceland’s largest natural lake, Þingvallavatn. Its biggest draw is Silfra, the trench that’s caused by the movement of the Eurasian and the North American tectonic plates. Here, you can literally swim between two continents, in some of the clearest water in the world.

Alternatively, take a walk in the trenches and canyons formed by the warping earth. It’s as fascinating as it is beautiful.

Geysir 💧

Want to experience the surprise and thrill of Iceland’s volcanic activity up close? There’s no better place than at the Geysir geothermal area.

In fact, this is the very place that gave its name to the phenomenon now known as geysers, the holes in the ground from which boiling water bursts high into the sky. Visit Geysir and you’ll stand beneath steaming jets of water created by geothermal activity beneath the earth.

Blue Lagoon 🌊

People have been bathing here since the early eighties, when the lagoon was created. Locals swear by the healing powers of its water, with Iceland’s National Health Service even approving visits for the treatment of psoriasis.

In winter, it can be a particularly welcome experience. What’s more, you can gaze at the northern lights that dance above your head as you chill.

Reykjavik 🗻

Too many visitors to Iceland simply pass through the capital city on their way to more famous natural sights. But they’re missing out. The reality is that Reykjavik has some of Iceland’s top attractions and best insights into true Icelandic culture.

Where to start? Reykjavik’s harbour—the beating ancient heart of the city—can be a good place. Along the city’s scenic and historic waterfront, you’ll find sights including Harpa, one of the city’s most important buildings and cultural hubs. And, a short distance away, you’ll discover the Sun Voyager, probably Iceland’s most iconic sculpture.

Tainan is Taiwan's oldest city and its former capital. With over 2000 temples and shrines, it offers many opportunities for sightseeing and learning the local culture.

It's easy to get overwhelmed when there are so many different options, so here are 5 place I personally recommend checking out:

First up is Anping Fort. Built by the Dutch in 1624, it’s where Taiwan’s colonial history began. You can walk along the stone walls, explore the old cannons, or just enjoy the views of the surrounding area.

After visiting the fort, you can take a five-minute walk to the Anping Tree House. It used to be a warehouse, but now banyan trees have completely overgrown it. Their roots twist through windows and walls, creating an incredible scene that feels both peaceful and a little eerie.

Next up is Chihkan Tower. Dating back to the Ming dynasty, it’s filled with historic relics and stone tablets. There’s also a koi pond and a small garden, making it a perfect spot to relax and take some photos.

Then there’s the Confucius Temple, which was built in 1665. It’s Taiwan’s oldest Confucian temple and remains a quiet place where students come to pray for exam success. It’s a calm spot to learn about history and soak in the atmosphere.

And lastly, there’s the Siao-Long Cultural Park. Once a Japanese-era sugar factory, it’s now a vibrant cultural space filled with art exhibits, performance halls, and a museum dedicated to the local Siraya culture. It’s a creative blend of history and modern life that’s definitely worth exploring.

Rome is the capital of Italy and one of the oldest cities in the world. Also known as the “Eternal City,” it was the center of the Roman Empire and is home to famous landmarks like the Colosseum and the Vatican.

Now let's see the most important places you have to visit in Rome:

• The Coliseum

An eternal symbol of the greatness of Ancient Rome, the Colosseum is perhaps one of the best known landmarks on the planet. This impressive amphitheater is in the heart of the city and has accommodated up to 80,000 spectators.

• Trevi Fountain

The Trevi Fountain is the largest and most impressive fountain in Rome, and one of its best-known tourist attractions. It was built in the XVIII century in travertine marble and represents Neptune, the god of the sea riding a shell-shaped carriage pulled by seahorses. In addition, there is a great tradition of throwing coins at the Trevi Fountain.

• Staircase of the piazza di spagna

The Piazza di Spagna, or Spanish Square, owes its name to the Spanish Embassy, located in the square since the 17th century. The area around the square was a meeting point for artists, writers and international visitors during the Grand Tour.

• Roman forum

The Roman Forum was the political, religious and social center of Ancient Rome, where the great processions, public speeches, commercial business, and other important events took place.

• Tiber River

Taking a cruise on the Tiber River is one of the best ways to discover the Eternal City. The Tiber is one of the most important rivers in Italy and played a crucial role in the development of Rome.

• Underground world of Rome

One of the most fascinating attractions in Rome is actually beneath the city. The ancient Roman catacombs are underground tunnels that served as burial sites for Christians and Jews from approximately the 2nd to the 5th century A.D. (II to V A.D.).

Rome is a city full of history, culture, and beauty. A place that fascinates all who visit.

I’m Ana Laura, your tour guide for today, and I’m thrilled to be with you as we explore some of the most breathtaking and iconic destinations that Canada has to offer. Get your cameras ready, your curiosity sharpened, and let’s dive into this unforgettable journey together!

📍⛪️ First stop: Notre-Dame Basilica, Montreal

Although it's not in France, this basilica is just as enchanting! Located in the charming Old Montreal district — or Vieux-Montréal — the Notre-Dame Basilica of Canada is an architectural gem. It’s open to visitors for just a few Canadian dollars and is absolutely perfect for capturing stunning photos.

And here’s a bonus — inside the basilica, you can experience the AURA Experience, a magical nighttime light show that lasts about 40 minutes. It’s a beautiful combination of music, lights, and spirituality. Definitely a must-see!

📍🏞 Next up: Niagara Falls, Ontario

Now, prepare to be amazed by one of the most iconic natural wonders in the world — Niagara Falls! Located in Ontario, this powerful cascade of water is made up of three waterfalls: the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls on the U.S. side, and the impressive Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side.

The view is completely free to enjoy, but for those seeking adventure, guided boat tours and walkways take you even closer to the action. Just a friendly tip — bring a raincoat… you’ll thank me later!

📍🏞 Time for some nature: Banff National Park, Alberta

Let’s head west to Alberta, where we find the stunning Banff National Park — a true slice of Canadian paradise. This park is filled with turquoise lakes, towering mountains, and all kinds of outdoor adventures. You can go rafting in the summer, ice skating in the winter, or simply take in the beauty of nature all year round.

Banff has a subarctic climate and is home to a rich diversity of wildlife. You might spot bears, cougars, moose, and even bighorn sheep! The park’s forests are filled with lodgepole pines and Engelmann spruce — and the higher you go, the more rugged and icy the landscape becomes. Absolutely magical!

📍🏛 Let’s dive into history: Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto

Now we’re back in the city — Toronto, to be exact — and you’re about to see a building that truly stands out. The Royal Ontario Museum, or ROM, is not only impressive on the outside with its modern architecture, but it’s also home to one of the largest collections of art and history in Canada.

Inside, you’ll find everything from dinosaur skeletons to meteorites, ancient artifacts, and even pieces of Canadian and European history. It’s a paradise for history buffs, science lovers, and curious minds of all ages!

📍🏙 Final stop: CN Tower, Toronto

We’re wrapping up our tour with a visit to one of the most famous landmarks in Toronto — the CN Tower!
