Clarifying and comparing the information criteria has become easier with some websites offering a side by side comparison so that information can be referenced in columns next to each other making the information gathering process even quicker.

An example of this is most IT consumer company websites. You will be able to compare two models of laptops side by side. Price, RAM, Screensize are information I was looking at but also in the back of my mind the other uses of the laptop - School work as well as performance based as a gamer laptop. Best of both worlds.

The conclusion was easier to draw with the right preparation. It is never a bad thing to screw up the preverbial page and start again but if you have asked yourself the right questions at the beginning, you will arrive at your outcome faster.

I compared the data I collected with my local environment, and then found out how I could create the perfect growing environment for factors that were missing.

As it turns out, flax was once grown in my area (there are ruins of a flax mill nearby). Cotton however wasn't something I could grow here without a grow house.

So using the data I collected, I built a grow house indoors for the cotton plants I subsequently grew, and safely grew flax outside, both all the way to the point of harvest.

After comparing a few different cars I managed to narrow it down to two using the information I had found about their costs to run, known issues and purchase prices. From there I was about to narrow my choice down with personal preference.

To pursue this dream, I had to collect a few pieces of information. To start with I had to find out if my mum would let me get a dog. The original breed I was after was a German Shephard or kelpie. She said no to those but compromised with a cocker spaniel instead.

After I had determined I would be allowed a dog I started collecting other information, in no specific order. I wanted to know if she would be allowed inside. (I would like a girl) How much would she be? did I have to get her on gumtree, or could I go somewhere else? Could I get her in Tasmania, or would I have to go to the mainland? more information was added when study came on the scene. Would I be able to manage a puppy and study full time? To answer these questions, I went online and asked my mum.

I could keep her inside if I kept her clean. She would likely be a thousand dollars or more. At this point in time gumtree is the best option. I will probably have to go to the mainland to get her. And we decided it was best to wait till I had seen what it was like to study for a year before I took on the responsibility of a puppy.

Using the information I had I made a plan on how to get my dog. I'm in the midst of that plan now.

We decided it was time to buy a new car. We had specific wants in our new car, so we created a list of what the new car must have. After compiling the list, we attended the Sydney Motor Show and looked at all the models on offer. We even investigated premium brands, because they were on display in-front of us.

Once it came time to make the purchase we organised quotes from various dealers for the specifications we were after. Once these quotations came in I was deeply disappointed in the pricing. Because we had done our research we had the option of moving to a premium brand which actually ended up being $2500 less than a Australian built car with the features we wanted.

Our research gave us a better deal financially and exposed us to products we would have never originally considered.

I made an analysis of the patterns, "If this primary light was red/green, these lights would in turn be this colour."

I then knew which colour the lights would be at the beginning of my trip and essentially nothing was gained.

A lot of data was analysed between the weights and R-value, keeping weight down while doing multi-day hikes is one of the most important factors. Just as important as keeping weight down, is ensuring you are kept warm while sleeping. So analysing the data is very important. Another very important factor is being able to afford said sleeping mat, it's all well and good to be able to buy the best tech and expensive sleep mat. However, if you can not afford the best some sacrifices may need to be made.

I had my heart set on a sleeping mat that ticked all the boxes but was just out of the budget. Luckily for me, I was able to purchase a very good sleep mat on special. So it was a win-win.

After being out of school for quite a few years, I had a look at the degree that I would like to pursue. Looking at the course information and basic understanding of that course and its profession, years of attainment, graduation rates and the thought of likeliness of acceptance/ graduation compared to doing a UPP (University preparation program) first. To be prepared in basic Academic study/ research and its likeliness of being accepted and completing the degree with greater understanding and graduation after doing the UPP is greatly higher. I research what a UPP is and what is involved. After talking with people, collecting all data and cross referencing. I have concluded that doing a UPP rather than jumping straight into a degree would be a smarter and more logical way of achieving my goals.

In conclusion I went to the most dialed down source for the information and did not just take a general google to answer my query. I found this to be the most accurate source of information.

When deciding which house, I would like to move into I looked at 3 pieces of key data that mattered to me most. affordability, location and house size.

I analysed the data by comparing the cost of rent and utilities for each house and the price range for each location. When doing this I also factored in the size of each house for how much space there was and if it would be a sufficient amount for me.

After analysing this data, I came to the conclusion that the houses size was not as big of a factor in comparison to the location and affordability of the house. I decided on the house, which was in a central location to my life, but also comfortably affordable for me.

I gathered information regarding the models I was looking for within my price range.The options were narrowed down using further relevant criteria such as Odometer readings, service record, and potential issues. Finally I inspected them personally for issues, finding issues not stated in the listings. The car I purchased was within my price range, and I avoided unlisted faults that would have been outside of my budget to fix.

In conclusion, research and comparison allowed me to analyze the options available to me, and choose the most viable option for my situation.

I have recently used common sense research on planning/preparing to sell my car.

Majority of the information that I collected was for creating a suitable price range for the car based on its: Damage, Faults, Repairs, Service History and amount of rego left. this helped to create an accurate price set to a non-negotiable amount preventing low-ball offers and time wasters. Using Carsales and Redbooks Evaluation, I was able to analyse other cars sale data based on their own faults and comparing that to mine. In Conclusion the car is up for sale at a set price with multiple offers been given with a reasonable amount and people that are easy to work with.

watching the trailers, looking at the cast list and also looking at the genre of the film is all research i do so i can compare and pick the best one.

I then turned to the Internet and went looking at any websites for stores that were local to me. Lastly, I asked a few more friends about any reliable review sites they were aware of.

After compiling all the information I scaled back my deciding factors to aesthetic, cost and availability for repairs or servicing. My method of elimination was simple, started with aesthetic then eliminated any desktops that felt overpriced and then finalized my choice after looking into the post purchase care.  

I landed on a HP all in one desktop and saved myself $1000!

This usually consists of are they the right size? Does the toe have enough of an edge? How hard is the rubber? How do you fasten them? (laces, Velcro, elastic). What's the price like? Could i find similar shoes for cheaper? If so do they still meet all my needs or is it worth it to spend a bit more?

All these things go into finding the right shoe for the right type of climbing, often times you'll end up with more then one pair as its difficult to find single pair that meets all your needs whilst still being affordable. A fair amount of research goes into finding the right ones, comparing prices and sizes and so on.

A "Build" is a particular set of choices and decisions that can vary and alter how your character in a game interacts with the mechanics of the game. I browsed through a collection builds on a wiki for the game that focused on a number of things like Weapons, Abilities and Magic spells then went through the information of the Weapons, Abilities and Magic spells to select a particular playstyle that seemed suited to my preferences

The build that i ended up selecting was one that was out of the norm of my regular playstyle but also had a pleasing aesthetics to it

Eventually, we found the perfect home to raise our kids in for the meantime until we move onto something bigger in the future.

The bad thing was I found out that I didn't do good research because the washing machine stopped working after three months.

This helped me create a healthy but simple meal plan that I could easily follow. After comparing the cost of these ingredients with my usual groceries, I was able to pull back on some unhealthy guilty pleasures (icecream and chips for me) to level out the price and not break the bank. A.H

Analysing the data noted above helped

me come to the conclusion that the more

affordable phone was the pick for me as

I determined that while a plan was more easily paid for it was generally less cost effective, so I decided on purchasing outright. Then it was evaluating the features and whether they were worth a higher price tag and how they would integrate with my life.

I concluded that as an accident prone individual (which I now know as ADHD), it was likely I would damage or lose the device altogether. When considering that and the lack of features I really needed in a phone at the time, the cheapest option while still being a modern, robust, and functionally acceptable phone, pocket calculator, and camera seemed the most logical.

It was a good choice for that time of my life, I went through 2 of these phones within 2-3 years, losing one in an uber while travelling and I don't even remember what happened to the other.

I used to play roller hockey and in this particular example, I wanted a new set of skates.

I gathered information on wheel types, bearings, frames and the boot. Choosing the best was easy but it was also the most expensive. I then had to analyse the above data and find a pair that had a good amount of all of those with good upgradability but for a good price and worth the price.

Being quite involved in the sport allowed me to also gather some data of phenomenal experiences of others and their opinions of different skates.

This allowed me to come to the conclusion of spending way too much on a pair of skates and later regretting it :P

After spending nearly a whole day comparing different brands, the storage capacity, the different software compatibilities, the accessories that would work. it came off to be rather fruitless as they all had flaws in individual aspects. in the end after spending hours of price comparisons, looking into each devices details and so on. not everything was fruitless as i did at least find two pink coloured tablets so whilst it wasn't a major win it was a slight win.

For this I had to weigh up the pro's and con's for this situation, and with this decision, there were a lot to consider.

I had to, first and foremost, look for a place I could live. Adelaide is quite an expensive place to live so trying to find somewhere affordable is quite difficult. I did have the option of living with my grandparents, but the issue with that is that, I would be imposing on them, and would have to share one small room with my nearly 3 year old son. There was the option of possibly renting through a friend, but that option also fell through because of personal fallout, and the final option was through typical renting which, again, was extremely expensive and out of my price range. This left me with the one option that I was not fond of.

On the brighter side, I had a fair few benefits. There are so many more resources to help me further my education with more ease, and availability. This will also give me more places to further my career, instead of where I currently live, as it doesn't have anywhere near as many options. 90% of my family live in Adelaide, so it would bring me closer to them, as well.

After looking at all of the information gathered, it was decided that I would not have a good living situation for the long term and that was the most important part of the decision. There were plenty of benefits, but at this time, it isn't a worthwhile option. Instead it will be something I can look into in the future, where I can further assess the situation.

I collected information such as price, safety ratings, fuel efficiency and type (petrol, diesel, electric), reliability, parts and service costs.

I discovered that although I could save money on fuel in the long run, electric cars were expensive to purchase initially and parts/repairs were costly if anything went wrong. Wait times on parts could be an issue as well. Diesel cars often have issues with the DPF if not maintained properly, another costly expense.

I decided to purchase a smaller model, well known branded petrol car that had a 5 star safety rating as this was cheaper overall in terms of purchase price, fuel consumption, repairs and service. Parts were also easily found and budget friendly.

I found that ordering parts separately is more cost efficient but I kept looking online for good deals and found one that had to go because the owner was moving states. That was the one that I chose and hasn't failed me yet

I had to do a common sense research, either for a new laptop or to get it repaired.

I researched the specs of the different brands of laptops (processing speeds, Intel or AMD, graphics, memory (RAM) and system types).

None were as good as what I currently have unless its above $1,500 so repair was the way to go. Much cheaper.

I did not continue the research for repairs, my partner did.
