I am bilingual, with Spanish being my first language.

When I think about something that brings me joy, my thoughts immediately turn to my beautiful home country of Puerto Rico 🇵🇷. I shared a picture of a breathtaking beach in Carolina, Puerto Rico, to capture the essence of what makes me truly happy.

Hi my name is Samantha but everyone calls me Sam. This is my last semester at Herkimer. and i plan to move onto a four year after i graduate. My biggest goal right now is to get through this semester and work the three jobs i have. My comfort person is my grandma but she would be upset if i posted a photo of her so here is one of my cats, Willow who reminds me of the light fury from how to train your dragon. She is a princess and is very soft. I have three other cats beside her and they are all siblings (Whiskey, Miso, and Ripley).

Good morning, and Happy Martin Luther King JR Day. My name is Jae Murphy, and that photo of the fluff ball is one of my many pets (three dogs, three cats), not by choice because I married an incredible woman who my friends call "Snow White" as she is always saving animals. How can I be opposed to that? The above photo is Kona, she is a rescue from a high kill shelter in Kentucky. We foster cats and dogs through a rescue, and she was a "foster fail" because I fell in love with her. It is silly, but she can make the worst days a little brighter.

I will be honest; I am not entirely sure how many more semesters I have at Herkimer. I am a returning student, I started at HCCC in 2006, move back home after a semester. I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do, so I went off track with my studies a bit and then ended up landing the career I had always wanted- a police officer. The past five years I have been an officer; the job is not what I thought it would be, although it is better now that I am part of a specialized unit called the Behavioral Health Team, focusing on mental health issues throughout the city, but now I am back to school to follow a more fulfilling path.

Hi everyone! My name is Elena. I'm 25, about to be 26 in February and working my butt off in school and work to provide the best life for my daughter. I'm a single mother, so needless to say I have a lot of stress in my life, but my girl keeps me going. For my birthday last year I adopted a young black cat named Aura, she's rambunctious as ever, but such an angel. I had/have two dogs, Cooper (right) and Diego (left), Cooper passed away roughly 2 years ago but the memories of him forever make me happy. Diego is still living, but getting old. I've had them since I was 10/11 years old. I'm not too comfortable posting pictures of my daughter so I've chosen my dogs to post as they are my eternal happiness.

I look forward to working with you all!

I'm a psychology major and plan to transfer to a 4 year college this Fall where I will also be minoring in criminal justice, with the hope of becoming a criminal psychologist someday.

This picture is of me (left) with my best friend, Trinity (right). I've known her since our junior year of high school. We always say we met each other when we needed it the most. We've helped each other through some of our lowest points. When I think about being happy I immediately think of us at her dorm, laughing so hard we can't breathe over absolutely nothing. I'm very grateful that I have her in my life, and she is one of the many people I'm lucky enough to know that never fail to make me happy.

Hey everyone, my name is Bryan Doyle. I do track and cross country here at Herkimer, and this will probably be my last semester here. I decided to post a picture of my beautiful puppy/sister, Winnie. Winnie makes me happy for many reasons. She is funny, athletic, kind, and beautiful. She is full of life and is always there for me to make sure I am ok. I spend hours playing fetch and tog-a-war with her and she is honestly very strong. Winnie just turned one in December, and I am so grateful to have so many years left with her. Despite her being kind, she can be mischievous. She destroys the bathroom, our kitchen, and climbs on things. She also jumps on my grandma when she doesn't like it. Although it is quite humorous if I do say so myself. She really inspires me. She is very positive, vocal, and isn't afraid to be herself. I think that is how us humans should be as all. Anyways, amazing pictures everyone, and it is great to meet you all!!

Hi, my name is Leila(lay-la), I was born and raised in a small town called Utica. This is my second semester at Herkimer College and I am loving it. I am majoring in Psychology. I would love to be able to help kids in any way that I can. Something that makes me happy is nature. Ever since I was a kid I loved being outside and exploring instead of staying inside and watching TV. My parents had lots of animals growing up. They had bunnies, chickens, birds, etc. I loved going outside and playing with them. Being outside calms my mind helps reduce stress, and allows me to connect to the world around me. I love waking up to the birds chirping, it relaxes my mind. My family and I go on hikes around the country every fall and summer. I love spending time with them; being in nature connects us all.

Hello everyone! My name is Andy and this is my final semester here at Herkimer! There are plenty of things in life that make me happy from creating and enjoying music and art to playing games and watching youtube! However, if I was to narrow it down to what brings me true happiness, I'd have to say my happiest moments are when I'm spending time with friends and family. The photo that I chose for this is of my lovely partner, myself, and my goofball of a pup! This particular photo was taken whilst hanging out with my parents and playing in the snow at their house! I find that I struggle to be extroverted but that I also thrive in the company of others. I love having new experiences and creating new memories with the people around me. I also really enjoy meeting new people and making new connections. I really look forward to learning more about the psychology surrounding happiness and also to interacting with all of you throughout!
