My happy place is on my couch with my emotional support puppy curled up in a blanket watching a movie. She is going to help me get through this semester. I am proud of myself for making it to the 3rd semester of college! My dream is to help people like me. My main focus this semester is going to be on happy and positive things.

I will be honest; I am not entirely sure how many more semesters I have at Herkimer. I am a returning student, I started at HCCC in 2006, move back home after a semester. I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do, so I went off track with my studies a bit and then ended up landing the career I had always wanted- a police officer. The past five years I have been an officer; the job is not what I thought it would be, although it is better now that I am part of a specialized unit called the Behavioral Health Team, focusing on mental health issues throughout the city, but now I am back to school to follow a more fulfilling path.

I look forward to working with you all!

When I thought of things that bring me joy, I thought of my family, who consist of my mom, my dad, and my older brother. Me and my family are very close with one another and they have helped me get through life and college in general.

This picture is of me (left) with my best friend, Trinity (right). I've known her since our junior year of high school. We always say we met each other when we needed it the most. We've helped each other through some of our lowest points. When I think about being happy I immediately think of us at her dorm, laughing so hard we can't breathe over absolutely nothing. I'm very grateful that I have her in my life, and she is one of the many people I'm lucky enough to know that never fail to make me happy.

Hello Everyone, My name is Victoria. I go by Vic or Vicky.  I had chosen this major, as a way to not only help myself but others as well. People always feel like they are alone and that they have no one, but I want them to feel like they have me and that I wanna help them. I had posted this collage of what makes me happy. Everyone in the picture is my happy place. I am proud to be a dog/cat mom and also an aunt. Adding to that, a now fiance. They make me who I am, they are a piece of me. 

I’m finishing my last year at Herkimer; majoring in Psychology. I’ve really enjoyed this journey thus far, through all its “trials and errors”. I’m sharing with you today, my lovely, almost 4 year old kitty, Minni. Her presence brings be so much courage for my rough days and an everyday pal to explore life with. I’ve had her since she was around 2 months old; and each day she’s brought me so many smiles.

I have an infinite amount of gratitude for many things in my life. Great family and friends belongings and natures beauty; however, she is my baby and my Minni-Nature ❤️
