I feel that increasing the populationation is a good thing as this will ensures that Singapore is able to sustain itself. As a shrinking and ageing population means a smaller and less energetic workforce, thus a less vibrant and innovative economy. Furthermore, after reaching the 6.9 million target, singapore's population density is still way below hong kong (22000 person/ km^2) and seoul (27000 person/ km^2) which singapore will only be 13700 person/ km^2. However, on the other hand, citizen is also afraid that by increasing the population, more foreign workers will come in to singapore, and also that singapore will become very congested and polluted.

there should not be increase in population because singapore is going to be very crowded and soon there would not be enough housing for people, there would also be a lack of jobs and the number of unemployed people would increase

Currently, we already have lots of problems like MRT breakdowns, not enough jobs for degree holders etc. If there is a higher population, this problems would be worse.

For my point of view,
This topic is debatable because by raising the population it will solve some problems caused by the ageing population.

By going against the idea of raising the population
it will create overcrowding issues and it might lead to accommodation issues and the demand for healthcare will increase
