• manners are important in a person when seeking knowledge

• because by taking care of our manners we can be respected by the public, can take care of حبل من الله وحبل من الناس and can turn ourselves in a better direction

• we also need to have sincere intentions when seeking knowledge instead of being forced

• among the important manners we need to maintain is manners with teachers for example; be careful when asking questions, don't sleep in class and complete assignments given by the teacher

• why is the qur'an important ? it is because as a guide to our lives as a muslim

• how has been mentioned in surah al-isra' ayat 9 : Allah says, "surely the Qur'an guides to what is most upright and gives good news to the believers-who do good-that they will have a mighty reward."

THE PILLARS OF ISLAM ✨

• say two words of shahadah : always renewing the word shahadah

• pray 5 times a day : how Muslims communicate with Allah

• fasting in the month of Ramadan : refraining from doing useless thing and always being grateful for the blessings bestowed by Allah

• paying zakah : sharing sustenance with poor people and being able to clean our property

• perform Hajj for those who can afford it

MANNERS WITH PARENTS 🫂

( surah Maryam verse 41-50 tells about the story of Prophet Ibrahim and his father )

VERSE 41 : يآبت : the most noble calling for father

VERSE 42 : Prophet Ibrahim still used a good call to his father in inviting his father to embrace Islam

VERSE 43 : Prophet Ibrahim still respects his father and not arrogant

VERSE 44 : Prophet Ibrahim did not blame his father but instead blamed the devil so that his father would not follow in the footsteps of the devil

VERSE 45 : Prophet Ibrahim did not want his father to be punished by Allah

VERSE 46 : His father rejected the advice of Prophet Ibrahim in a rude way

VERSE 47 : Prophet Ibrahim can only pray for the well-being of his father and ask Allah for forgiveness

VERSE 48 : Prophet Ibrahim prayed to Allah for a good offspring for the future

VERSE 49 : and Allah answered the prayer of Prophet Ibrahim and blessed him with Prophet Ishak and Prophet Ya'qub and both of them were raised to be prophets

VERSE 50 : Allah sent down mercy to the three of them by granting them a good offspring and always be the praise of all religious followers

THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A KIND PERSON

• After prayer, they distance themselves from vain and futile activities.

• They purify their wealth by paying zakat.

• They safeguard their chastity.

• They uphold trust and responsibilities.

If in the first rak’ah they remember Allah, it is already considered khushu'.

KHUSHU' IN PRAYER

• If they become heedless in the following rak'ahs, it means they have lost khushu'.

• Having the intention before prayer to attain khushu'.

• Focusing in prayer to earn rewards and making efforts to achieve it.

• Ensuring oneself is truly clean and pure before praying.

The story of the Prophet and the snake: when the adzan (call to prayer) was made, it distracted him from prayer.

When the adzan is heard, everything else should be stopped.

Prayer is a form of success—strive to achieve it.

BENEFITS OF KHUSHU' IN PRAYER

• Obedience to Allah's commands.

• A form of jihad for the sake of Allah.

• Attaining humility (tawadhu’).

• Self-reflection on how to perfect one's prayer.

• Surah Al-Mu’minun mentions khushu' in prayer.

• Those who pray with khushu' will surely be successful.

• Khushu' means humility and submissiveness.

The Prophet (ﷺ) prayed with such devotion that he became unaware of those around him.

This proves the importance of khushu' in prayer.

Ways to Attain Khushu' in Prayer

• Brush teeth / use miswak (based on a hadith from the Prophet ﷺ).

• Perform wudu' (ablution) properly.

• Focus on the place of sujood (prostration).

• Recite Surah An-Nas.

• Remember death.

• Imagine Allah is watching you.

• Picture yourself praying on the Sirat Bridge (over Hell).

• Imagine it as your last prayer.

• Do not rush—observe tuma’ninah (calmness and composure).

• Understand and internalize the meanings of the recitations.

• Wear clean and proper attire.

  
  

Do Not Pray If :

You are hungry and food is already served.

You are holding in the urge to relieve yourself (based on a hadith from the Prophet ﷺ).

(Surah Al-Baqarah, Verses 183-186)

VIRTUES OF RAMADAN

• The doors of forgiveness are opened widely.

• Cultivates gratitude, appreciating the blessings from Allah.

• Self-reflection and understanding the struggles of others.

• Strengthens relationships—breaking fast together, performing Taraweeh prayers.

• Develops patience—enduring hunger, thirst, and desires; discipline in suhur.

• The Night of Al-Qadr—one of the last ten odd nights, rewards greater than 1,000 months.

  
  

EXEMPTIONS FROM FASTING IN RAMADAN (RUKHSAH)

• Women on menstruation—can still earn the same reward as those who fast.

• Elderly people—especially those with dementia who struggle to fast.

• Travelers—if the journey exceeds 70 km, they can make up for the fast later.

• Sick individuals—if fasting worsens their condition or harms them.

• In emergency situations—life-threatening circumstances like fire disasters, or for nursing mothers.

RECOMMENDED ACTS IN RAMADAN (SUNNAH PRACTICES)

• Hasten to break the fast—so as not to delay Maghrib and Taraweeh prayers.

• Delay suhur—as it brings blessings, provides energy for worship throughout the day.

• Providing food for others to break their fast—earns the same reward as the fasting person, without reducing their reward.

• Performing Taraweeh—a voluntary act with multiplied rewards.

• Sins are forgiven through increased worship and good deeds.
