Overall, I used different art materials to create my empowerment collage. I first used watercolors for the background. I then cut and pasted magazine images that demonstrate empowerment. I used printmaking to create a red heart for my collage. I then used the brush pen marker to draw around both pages. I then added the glitter swirls and flowers to finalize my project. My artwork has an inspirational meaning for me because I grew up with all women in my family. I have older sisters, and they all taught me that being a woman does not define who I am. I am strong and capable of anything I want to accomplish. I loved how my artwork turned out. 

My final project is simple but has a lot of meaning to me. I first decided to use watercolor for the background. I made it chaotic as it expressed my life at the moment. I wanted to use flowers throughout my artwork since one of my aunts passed away last week, and she loved flowers! The swirls in my painting represent craziness but are still full of life. That is how I feel at the moment, a lot is going on, but I'm still trying my best to succeed. My artwork is dedicated to my aunt, who was always there for my family and I even when she had a lot going on in her life as well. Life and Growth has been on my mind recently, and I decided to represent them by using colorful flowers that my aunt loved the most. When I look at my artwork, I see chaos, and I also see strength. 

 

I added more details with different materials, shapes, and colors to make the design pop out more. 


This is my final piece which I made out of magazine cutouts, paper cutouts, stickers, acrylics, markers, and different coloring materials. I wanted my design to be bold, expressive, yet well put together into one whole design. I made it to be an expressive collage that represents what goes on in my head. It is basically my thoughts on paper, not literal, however. This design for me was a way to relax and dump whatever was in my head on paper. It made it special and important to me that way because all the different materials represent the different thoughts that I was able to get out.
