         <description><![CDATA[<p>Mohau is developing a strong sense of body awareness and can confidently identify and point to many parts of his body, including his eyes, ears, mouth, nose, head, shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet and tummy. He is becoming increasingly aware of how his body moves and enjoys exploring different types of movements. He is learning concepts such as up and down, fast and slow, and demonstrates growing control during activities that involve bending, stretching, twisting and balancing.</p><p>Mohau participates enthusiastically in activities that promote spatial awareness and self-control, such as threading large beads, building with blocks, balancing on beams and copying movement patterns during games or dance. These experiences help him understand how his body moves in space, coordinate his movements and adjust his actions to complete tasks successfully. His curiosity and willingness to try new movements show increasing confidence and enjoyment in learning about his body.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Fine Motor:</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Mohau is making excellent progress in his fine motor development and has established right-hand dominance. He has progressed from using a fist grip to confidently using a tripod grip when holding his crayon, although he still needs some guidance when colouring between the lines and tracing patterns. He enjoys a variety of creative activities, including tearing, pinching, poking and shaping playdough, as well as picking up small objects using a pincer grip. Mohau continues to hold a paintbrush with a four-finger grip and is developing greater control as he paints and explores different textures. These activities strengthen his hand-eye coordination and finger strength. His enthusiasm for hands-on tasks and persistence in completing them independently demonstrate steady progress in his fine motor skills. Well done, Mohau!</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Mohau shows great enthusiasm for gross motor activities and enjoys exploring a wide range of movements. He confidently participates in obstacle courses, demonstrating curiosity and determination as he climbs, crawls and navigates different challenges. The jungle gym is one of his favourite places, where he climbs, slides and balances with increasing confidence and control. He is also developing coordination and spatial awareness through ball activities, including throwing, catching, rolling and kicking games. Mohau demonstrates growing strength, balance and agility, eagerly engaging in activities that allow him to challenge himself physically. His energy, confidence and enjoyment of movement make him a lively and motivated participant in all physical activities. Fantastic!</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Mohau is making excellent progress in his visual perceptual skills through daily classroom activities. He can confidently recognise and name basic shapes, including circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval and star, as well as colours such as red, blue, yellow, green, orange, purple, black, white, pink and brown. He enjoys matching and sorting activities and can now group items independently by shape, colour and size. Mohau is also able to complete a six-piece puzzle confidently, demonstrating growing problem-solving skills, attention to detail and spatial awareness. His curiosity, focus and persistence support his continued development in visual skills, and he takes pride in his achievements. </p>]]></description>

He is beginning to follow simple verbal instructions and responds well to familiar songs, rhymes and rhythmic patterns. He enjoys listening to and imitating a variety of sounds, including animal noises, environmental sounds and musical instruments, demonstrating growing auditory discrimination. Mohau is learning to identify and locate the source of sounds and is becoming more confident in participating in group activities that involve listening and responding. His enthusiasm for music and sound-based activities, combined with curiosity and focus, supports the continued development of his listening skills and auditory awareness. He loves mixing colours and discovering new effects, and enjoys using a variety of tools and textures, such as sponges, brushes and rollers, to create unique art pieces. He engages enthusiastically in sensory-rich experiences and is curious about different materials, including glitter, rice and mielie meal. While he often uses his whole hand to manipulate materials, he is beginning to develop a more controlled pincer grip with guidance. He takes pride in his artwork and enjoys sharing his creations with friends, expressing his excitement and creativity with those around him. While his speech is still a little unclear at times, he is making wonderful progress and continues to expand his vocabulary in English. He enjoys learning and confidently participates in group routines, including saying the days of the week and months of the year. He is also developing additional language skills, enjoying copying new words in isiZulu and Afrikaans, as well as practising signs in sign language, showing enthusiasm and curiosity for learning in multiple languages. He actively engages in songs, rhymes, and storytelling, which supports his listening, pronunciation, and understanding of language. He enjoys sorting objects into different groups and can count up to five objects in a row with understanding, demonstrating growing one-to-one correspondence and accuracy. He is also beginning to grasp basic mathematical concepts such as big and small, fast and slow, heavy and light, and long and short. He shows curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring numbers and quantities through everyday activities and enjoys participating in nursery rhymes, songs, and games that involve counting and mathematical concepts. These engaging experiences help reinforce his learning in a fun and meaningful way.
