The Stamp Act required the Colonists to pay taxes. The Stamp Act was also to raise money for Britain. The Stamp Act was then voted to repeal by Parliament. 

The Boston Tea Party was caused by Britian taxing the Colonists to buy tea because they were in debt. The Colonists were upset so they disguised themselves as Native Americans and went to Britian and dumped 342 chests of tea. The Boston Tea Party was the first event that the Colonists did something major to Britian. 

The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the beginning of the American Revolutionary War. Massachusetts and Britian were the ones battling in this fight. Massachusetts won the war by Britian retreating from them. 

The Declaration of Independence was a piece of writing by Thomas Jefferson. The Declaration of Independence was a writing to declare their independence from Britain. The Declaration of Independence wasn’t officially approved til August 14, 1776, by Britain.

The Battle of Trenton took place in New Jersey. The American Army won this war and was considered a turning point for them because they would constantly lose wars but since they won that war, it boosted their morale. ⅔ of the Hessian Force was captured.

The Battle of Yorktown was a battle that wasn’t really fair. The British had around 29,000 men while America only had 11,000 men in battle. With no surprise, the British won the battle.

The U.S. Constitution was a writing establishing their national government and laws. The publisher of the Constitution is James Madison. Only 39 people out of 55 signed the Constitution.

King Louis XVI called in the estates general. The assembly was made of three estates, the clergy, nobility and commoners. This event signaled the outbreak of the French Revolution. 

People stormed the King’s tennis court and stayed there  until they wrote the new constitution. The King called up the military but instead of helping theys supported. After the Tennis Court Oath, King Louis XVI ordered the clergy and the nobility to join the newly declared National Assembly.

The storming of the Bastelle was an event where angry French citizens attacked the Bastelle. The French citizens arrived there with weapons such as muskets, swords, etc. The aftermath of the storming led to the fortress getting dismantled.

The October Days weren’t really as bad of an event. The October Days was when around 7,000 people (mostly women) protested demanding reforms. They marched on Versailles demanding for bread and political reforms. 

The Declaration was a human civil rights document from the French Revolution. This was important because it was to protect individual rights. The French National Constituent Assembly established the Declaration of the rights of man. 

The Flight to Varennes was when former king Louis XVI and his family tried to escape Paris because they knew Louis XVI reign was over. They tried to escape to Austria but it was unsuccessful. Austria wanted France to support their king but they didn’t and that led to war.

This event took place out in public where everyone can watch. King Louis was convicted and condemened to death by a narrow majority. The cause of King Louis XVI’s death was by a guillotine. 

The Reign of Terror is the most gruesome event of the French Revolution. The Reign of Terror was caused by a group of people called the Jacobins who beheaded around 15,000 people including the King’s son. Every month, they’ll arrest and behead 1,000 people who didn’t like what they were doing.

After people were realizing that the Jacobins were a bit crazy, they didn’t like what they were doing anymore. So they arrested the head of the Jacobins and members of it too and executed them too. That was the end of the Reign of Terror and the Jacobins. 

Not knowing who the leader of France was, everyone was frustrated. Then, a man named Napoleon Bonaparte showed up and ruled France. He was like Julius Caesar, he was a military leader so he had the support of the army. He also considered himself “the first citizen”.
