I have a Level 1 ELL who arrived in the states in January in Basic Art this semester. His spoken English has improved already in the first few weeks; however, I have been translating all the project handouts and lecture notes into English for him using a translation software. My question is: for his benefit, should I give him the English versions as well, so that he can (perhaps) be ready to take the final exam for the course in English in June?

Hi, it sounds like you are supporting the student in his native language. Having the English versions would be useful for the student as well. Feel free to reach out to Meghan Greco or myself if you have any questions on how to support him. Glad to hear he is improving! ~Amy
