She is upset that Mai Thi is in America when her husband was killed in the war in Mai Thi's home country. Mrs. Bigio and her haven't really gotten along. His sister was not very happy with this and said that this would reflect how people look at her. A positive point of view in the story is when Holling saved his sisters life by hitting her out of the way. Siblings can have positive things with each other when they have a good time with each other or share a bond. His veiw point started to change when she started helping Holling. She showed him Shakespeare and even though Holling thought it was torture it soon became one of his favorite things. She helped him out when he didn't have enough money for him and Meryl Lee's date. She told Mrs.Bigio and got things worked out. So in that case that was negative. They had a positive relationship when Holling pushed his sister from getting hit by the bus. She was so grateful that Holling saved her life. Although later Mrs. Baker came and gave her hot chocolate to Mai Thi.
