Before you started reading, what was your initial impression of the novel?

My first thought was that the book would be about someone who doesn't care about nature but has some experience or event that changes their perspective.

Were you excited to read it? Why, or why not? What did you think it would be about? Is this the usual genre of novel you would read?

I wasn't too excited to read it, because I usually don't read diaries or books set in first person.

Do you have anything in common with the characters and/or situations in the novel so far?

I feel like I can relate to how the protagonist describes spring with the warmer weather, nature, and sunshine.

How would you describe the protagonist using 2 words?

I would describe the protagonist as perceptive and caring.

Similarities

Overall, many of everyone's answers were connected to nature and the growth Dara goes through. Some examples of this:

Colour:

Green representing nature and growth and brown being an earthy and natural colour.

Sound:

Sounds of wind going through grass and birdcalls representing Dara's love for birds.

Symbol:

Trees and the sun representing growth.

Differences

We all had similar ideas, but one difference I found was that everyone had chosen a different colour to represent the book.
