(April 9th, 1940)
The Denmark Invasion was a German attack, also known as the "Six Hour War". Germany attacking Denmark was a breach of the non-aggression pact, signed less than a year ago. They used the attack as a staging ground for their attack of Norway. The original plan was to push Denmark to accept that German naval, land and air forces could use Danish bases. But shortly after Adolf Hitler ordered that both Denmark and Norway must be invaded.

(April 9th, 1940)
The British plans for landings on the Norwegian coast to take place on the 3rd week of March 1940, they were postponed. The prime minister and France's premier both had agreed that some aggression needed ought to be taken. It was agreed upon that mines shall be placed in Norwegian waters and that the mining should be followed by the landing of troops. The date of the mining was postponed from April 5th to the 8th. This caused the chaos that followed subsequently after. On April 1st, Hitler had ordered the invasion of Norway to begin on April 9th. This was so that on the 9th Norway would be preoccupied with the mine laying. So on April 9th the Germans occupied Denmark, sending in troopships that were covered by aircraft. They sent them into the Copenhagen harbor and then to march over into Jutland. After months of fighting and troops being sent in, Norway finally surrendered to Germany on June 10th.

It began after the stock market crash of October 1929, which sent Wall Street into a panic and wiped out millions of investors. Over the next several years, consumer spending and investment dropped, causing steep declines in industrial output and employment as failing companies laid off workers. By 1933, when the Great Depression reached its lowest point, some 15 million Americans were unemployed and nearly half the country’s banks had failed.
