We all listen to music, and the climax tends to strike some sort of emotional tension in us, even if the climax is difficult to hear or find it is there whether it just be lyrically or instrumentally. While a climax often times can be a loud point in the song, this not always the case. Climaxes can be low in tone, slow in a beat, or any switch up in the song. The point of a climax is to keep the listener in suspense. Another interesting factor of a climax is that it is not exclusive to one single point in a song. Florence Welch’s “Sweet Nothing” and Christian Nodal’s “Adios Amor” Both of these genres are very different yet both contain a climax and in fact multiple climaxes.  “Sweet Nothing” has a climax every time Welch sings the words “Sweet Nothing” the songs begins to build up and the words prior to “sweet nothing” are sang quietly and in a way very seriously. The beat begins to build up and tension is creating, when it comes time to song the words “I’m living on such sweet nothing” the beat goes up and the tension begins to be released.
