Aims and objectives
The aim of this assessment is to do the skill audit and identify skills which need to be improved and further document SWOT analysis to prioritise the results.
Objectives

· To undertake skill audit and identify skills that need to be developed.

· To involve in a personal SWOT analysis to examine current skills within skills audit.
Background information

Mental wealth competencies are skills which equips an individual for the future. These include developing emotional, cultural and social intelligence along with cognitive intelligence and digital proficiency (Greenet al., 2019). Thus, after graduation by developing these skills, there will be a greater impact on the professional life of an individual. It provides complete opportunity to fulfil the future targets which are achievable by developing these skills. After developing these competencies, one can be more competent than their competitors. Overall, the importance of their recognition is that they could be applied when required. Further, if any development is required can be met by making a proper plan for that which is possible only when recognised.

This assessment is based on performing skill audit and further doing a SWOT analysis to prioritise the results gathered from the audit. This will represent all the skills that need to be developed over this (2020-21) academic period. There will be total of 8 skills chosen that need to be developed which will be mainly from personal, professional and academic skills.

Word count: 238

This skill has both positive and negative side, which means it does not require total improvement. This is because I am praised sometimes by the tutor to maintain notes during the lectures. However, this practice is not consistent, and I ignore sometimes maintaining my notes which violates accuracy of this skill [Referred to Appendix 1]. Thus, in order to maintain the full accuracy of this skill, it is required to maintain the habit of taking notes in every lecture. For this, it is required to amplify the will power and motivation that note-taking is an important part of the study, which helps to figure out crucial points. Rashid and Asghar (2016), stated that note-taking skill could foster the academic advancement, which is necessary for the future prospects which are available through online tools also.

Word count:137

This skill requires improvement as I least involved in the research and investigation process. I personally do not engage in research and investigation process as I found it time taking process in which I am less interested [Referred to Appendix 1]. This is the reason I got fewer marks in some of my previous modules because I did not pay attention to in-dept analysis of the requirements. My personal development hampers as I also got negative feedback from my tutor. Overall, I can say that this skill needs to be developed, which can be useful in my future endeavours. This is because professional field also demands research and investigation in the designated role.

Word count:117

My presentation skill is relatively good, and my academic performance says it all. During my previous assignments, when there has been a requirement of disbursing presentation, I performed well. It was significant in terms of targeting audience, clear and concise statements, headings and attractive by adding pictures in every slide. These all are signifying that I keep the good knowledge of presentation skill [Referred to Appendix 1]. This is the reason my friends also take my suggestion when they approach to making presentations. It all shows that this skill has helped me in my personal development. Presentation skill has helped me to gain recognition among my friends which motivated me to achieve more out of it.

Word count:119

In regards to this skill, it is required to build this skill as it is not accurate, which can hinder personal and professional development. During one of the activities in the class, I found that I could not demonstrate this skill competently. The activity was done in a group where it has been told to solve a puzzle. There were four members, including me, and my contribution was least in that activity. Other group members were successfully able to solve the maximum part of the puzzle for which I realised that this skill requires immediate attention and needs to be developed. [Referred to Appendix 1]

Word count:107

Concerning this skill, there is a requirement to develop this skill as I lack statistical and numerical skills. During my previous course or in previous classes, I got a negative response from my tutors. These negative responses claimed that I need to develop this skill [Referred to Appendix 1]. My performance in the assignment where there are numeric and statistical requirements was not satisfactory. The problem I particularly face in being not able to interpret information present in tables, charts, graphs and diagrams successfully, which is the major requirement of this skill. I need to work on this skill more as my previous practices also failed where I was learning from online tutorials. There has not been any significant development in this skill and have to work further on this skill. A persistence learning can help to develop this skill which can be undertaken for better results (Windisch,2016).

Word count:150

Communication skill in both the terms of oral and written need to be developed. This is because, under my oral communication, I lag vocabulary requirement, which restricts fluency of my oral communication. Another problem is that I have less confidence that I can contribute opinions and ideas in a group discussion. This was marked by my tutor also whenever I hesitate to talk on any point of discussion. My written skills are also not sound as I miss writing properly in an academic style which lowered my grades also. I have to highly work in this skill as it could affect my professional targets also which not good for my career. [Referred to Appendix 1]

Word count:120

Moreover, I do not keep proper communication with my team members which restricts the requirements of a group project. Lack of communication hinders the flow of important messages, which sometimes leads to conflicts. It is an influential practice for a team, and I immensely need to work on this skill. The result will be that I will be able to maintain effective communication with my team members. It can foster my professional career as that field also requires proper interpersonal skill. [Referred to Appendix 1]

Word count:111

The interrelationship between these skills and how transferable they are to the industry:

All the skills that have been mentioned above are interlinked as they complement each other. Starting from the first skill that is note-taking is there is a requirement to note down the things which are important. Again, in the time management skill, it is required to maintain a diary or calendar so that it could be known that which class need to attend or any other key dates. Another skill demands for research and investigation, which is necessary for problem-solving skill. This is because when any problem need be solved, there is a requirement of massive brainstorming, which is a part of the research and investigation process (Seeberet al. 2017). Research and investigation require continuous hunting of the knowledge which helps in better develop of the insights and reach to a final conclusion. Presentation skills is highly related with communication both oral and written (Salem, 2019). This is because a good presentation, first of all, requires robust written information. Then, after that, written information is interpreted and represented orally to the listeners or the audiences. Thus, it could be seen that presentation and communication skill both in terms of oral and written are highly related to each other. Taking the example of the numeracy skill, there is a requirement of critical thinking by which there can be a range of alternative solutions considered for problems like how to interpret information from charts, figure and so on (Ghanizadeh, 2017). Critical thinking has a greater link with interpersonal or teamwork skill. This is because critical thinking requires to be able to work significantly and productively with others to solve problems. The interpersonal skill also requires communicating with team members so that a particular or give problem can be solved within time.

Word count:302

However, in the mentioned skills, I need to do better as they are not competent for the chosen industry. Again, I can say that I have the proper knowledge of some these skills (8 skills mentioned above) and is well demonstrated whenever required. For example, whenever I have been part of group activities for any assignment, I best assist my team members in the ICT context. It starts with keeping control over how frequent communication can be maintained and which device can be used for that. Further, if my group acquainted computer related problems, I help them in fixing it. I used to collect information on such things and apply whenever required. I have also assisted my friends when they require any knowledge while operating their devices. I also maintain good presentation skill which sometimes can be required to demonstrate import idea at the workplace.
