I'm kind of really bad at tones and trying to tell what's lighter and what's darker. For the hatching and cross hatching I struggled with understanding the concept and I feel as though I did more scribbles than strokes and then towards the end I got better. For the painting I kept doubting whether a tone was darker or lighter than the last one adding more layers and creating a little bit of a mess. In this series of paintings I try to show different emotions through color. With each painting I had one specific emotion connected to it. For this one I wanted to show a warm love. I used yellows, oranges, and yellow-oranges to show how tunneled and yet how overwhelming love can be. With these contrasting complimentary colors the ultramarine blue overwhelmingly overpowers the orange. These eyes are different from the last painting, these are fearful, scared, and sad eyes loosing the little hope they had left. As tears run down their eyes and their skin begins to sweat away the fear the little stars are still glowing in the vast blue that has consumed this person. This eye is feeling jealousy, with sharp feelings and overwhelming sadness this eye has no clue what to think about what they just saw. The eye overtaken by jealousy has turned completely white. Able to understand and process these emotions they were once afraid of this eye is unafraid and lives in harmony with it's good and it's bad. This eye is feeling fulfilled. After having that aha moment, where you feel like you understand why things ended up being the way they are, it's that moment of realization where everything happens all at once all your past, present, and future meet for you to understand that you're right where you are supposed to be.
