• Students will be assessed on upper case letters, lower case letters and letter sounds.

MATH

• Rote counts from 1 to 30

• Counts 1-10 items with one to one correspondence , and identifies final number in the set

• Names the common shapes

• We can count up to 10 items.

• We know the last number we count is the total!

• If your child is wearing a sweatshirt/hoodie, please make sure their name is on it. Also, please have them wear a school appropriate T-Shirt under their sweatshirts/hoodies. It is often warm in the classroom when it is cold outside. (No Spaghetti Straps please)

• Please do not bring toys or make-up to school.

• Water bottle (water only). Please make certain it is a no spill cap.

• Healthy (low sugar) dry snack (pretzels, crackers or pre-cut fruit (no liquids or items that need spoon). Snack is early in the day. Cookies and candies are not allowed.

• blanket (washed often)

• Please label all jackets, hoodies, sweatshirts, water bottles and backpacks. We have many matching items and we want to get items to their correct child

We are learning ways that people in our community help us. Community helpers include doctors, nurses, police, mail men, police, teachers, fire fighters, dentist and many more!

West Memorial Elementary has the most spectacular Multicultural Evening. The date will be announced later. We invite families to share their culture with each other. We strive to have families represent countries all around the world. Often, families will bring cultural foods or items from their native country.
