I'm choosing the topic of Israel verses Hezbollah. I learned that a terrorist group, called Hezbollah, has made some attacks on Israel which resulted in the deaths of several soldiers. This group has been fighting against Israel for several years. I learned that the USA has partnered with Israel in the amount of 1 billion dollars to create the "iron dome" which is a anti-missile system that has shot down thousands of rockets launched to harm Israel. This system has saved many lives. It can hit down a missile before it strikes.

Sasha--Are you going to see the movie Selma? I absolutely agree with you that it was completely wrong of the police in Selma to beat up the marchers. I admire the courage of Dr. Martin Luther King, who attempted to cross that bridge after the people who had crossed earlier had been beaten severely. That must have taken a lot of courage.

Sarah-I think that's an incredibly high number of Disney staff who were infected with the virus! That is six out of ten people! That's a large number of people infected with measles!! Yikes. Remind me not to go to Disney Land. I wonder how this outbreak will affect their tourist season.

The topic I picked was about Black history month. I chose this topic because I never did get why black people were treated differently than white people. I feel as though everyone should be treated the same. we are all human and we all have equal rights. I don't know how anyone else feels but this is how I feel because we all should like each other and just because someone else is a different race doesn't mean they should get beaten for no reason. everyone has their own opinion and this is my opinion.

Sarah: I think it's crazy how people are getting the measles from other people carrying it into the U.S.

The topic that I choose was the Measles Outbreak in Disneyland. Health officials have said that the measles outbreak could have come from overseas. They also said that it was probably carried into the U.S. by an foreign tourist or an american returning home. 67% of Disneyland's staff have been infected with Measles Disease. The reason for the outbreak is that people are refusing to get vaccinated. The way you can tell if someone has measles is if they have sore eyes and white spots inside their mouths.
