This picture demonstrates evolution because it shows how animals must adapt to their environment in order to survive. Due to only the animals that evolve in certain ways survive, over time the gene pool consists of all the species becoming the same way. For example, the Galapagos Archipelago have evolved in a way so that their beaks are a certain way. These finches inhabited the Galapagos Islands, and over time their beaks evolved how the birds could best pick up their food. These finches are all very similar, but they are different in their habitat, and therefore what food they eat and their beak shape. Additionally, the finches with the longer and pointier beaks are better with catching insects, because this is what they have evolved to do over time. On the other hand, the finches with broad and blunt beaks do better with cracking seeds. So, the finches whose beaks did not evolve died, and in various habitats there are less gene variation. This is because only the finches who are able to pick up their food will survive.

https://galapagosconservation.org.uk/species/darwins-finches/

Rhodophyta, also known as red algae, is a type of protist. This is a type of algae that gets its red color from red pigments, which are called phycobilins. Majority of Rhodophyta are multicellular, and this type of species also reproduce sexually. Not all red algae looks the same, many can look different based on their environmental factors. These factors include sunlight, temperature, ocean waves, salinity, etc. These factors can cause this type of algae to look different based on color, shape, and size. Rhodophyta helps to build coral reefs, and it helps build a home to many different animals. Red algae is used as a food source for marine animals such as sea urchins, and limpets. Furthermore, specific types of red algae are used in various types of food we eat, including pudding and ice cream; it is also used in some toothpastes. Rhodophyta can be multicellular or unicellular, and can vary in structure. Red algae also have double cell walls and chloroplasts.

https://rsscience.com/red-algae/

There are many different plants that we see every day are monocots and dicots. As shown in the diagram above, the monocot plants will only have one cotyledon, and they will have long narrows leaves. Additionally, the flowers will be in groups of three, whereas in dicots the flowers will be in multiples of four or five. Furthermore, dicots have two cotyledon and they also have broad leaves. An example of a monocot and also a food that we eat is asparagus. Asparagus is a monocot because while in the ground, it only has one cotyledon. Another example of monocots are bananas. This fruit is a monocot because it has a single cotyledon as well. An example of a dicot plant is poison ivy. This plant is a dicot because it is a broad leave, similar to the picture shown above in the diagram. Another example of dicots are grapes, because they have two cotyledon.

https://microbenotes.com/monocotyledons-vs-dicotyledons/

This is a youtube video over the Phylum Mollusca. This is a very diverse phylum and some species in it include snails, sea butterflies, slugs, clams, oysters, etc. Majority mollusks are marine creatures. Mollusks can range in size from being microscopic to weighing over 1500 pounds. This phylum is very essential to the economy and are worth a lot of money if caught in the wild. The shells of these mollusks are connected to their bodies and cannot be shed, like other animals shed. Mollusks grow with their shells. Many mollusks have fully developed heads and tenticles and some have hundreds of eyes. Mollusk have radula, which is a tongue like structure that has thousands of teeth on it. This helps them to eat their food. Mollusks' bodies are made up of two parts, the head-body and the visceral mass (the shell). Additionally, they have a mantle cavity that helps with reproduction, excretion, and gas exchange.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxGxZtxXLbk

Homeostasis drives the functions of the body, and the functions collaborate between the nervous and immune system and the endocrine glands. Homeostasis helps to maintain a stable environment inside the body where it otherwise wouldn't be stable. This is due to physical and mental factors as well as the environment around us. An example of homeostasis in the body is when your body tries to regulate body temperature. Furthermore, when you are hot, your body will sweat to cool you off. On the other hand, your body will shiver if you are cold in attempt to maintain a stable body temperature. More examples include maintaining blood pressure and your average breathing rate. Without homeostasis, the body would not be able to function properly and would result in disease or death. Overall, homeostasis is the body's way of maintaining a regular internal state.

Topicshttps://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/medicine-and-dentistry/homeostasis#:~:text=Homeostasis%20refers%20to%20the%20capacity,medley%20of%20interconnected%20regulatory%20mechanisms.

Meningitis is when the lining of the brain is swelled. This can be caused by a variety of things, including a fugus, viruses, or bacteria. The symptoms of this disease include fever, headaches and a stiff neck. Meningitis can be deadly if not treated with antibiotics. There are various types of bacteria that can cause Meningitis, including Streptococcus Pneumoniae, Neisseria Meningitidis, and Haemophilus Influenza Type B. Within all of these types of bacteria, infants are the common to get Meningitis. There are various vaccines that can be administered to help prevent this disease. Meningitis mainly spreads between coughing, sneezing, or kissing; but it is not easily transmitted. This disease mostly gets transmitted between people who are carriers rather than people presently sick. There are vaccines to prevent it, but it should get treated with steroids.

https://dlg.galileo.usg.edu/data/dlg/ggpd/pdfs/dlg_ggpd_i-ga-bh800-pc6-bs1-bf35-b105-b2006-bjan-p-belec-p-btext.pdf

Tropical rainforests are mainly located near the equator, because that is where it is the hottest on earth. The temperatures are hot year-round, usually varying from 68 degrees F to 77 degrees F. This biome is the biome that receives the most rainfall amounts. These tropical rainforests can receive up to 400 inches of rain per year. Tropical rainforests are centered between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. There are three layers to tropical rainforests, and there is a high level of biodiversity in this biome. Little sunlight reaches the bottom layer of tropical rainforests. Because of this, there are few plants found on the ground level. Bacteria and other microorganisms can thrive on the floor level because of the level of moisture. There is high humidity and high biodiversity in this biome.

https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/biome/biorainforest.php

Biodiversity is the number of different organisms in an area. Biodiversity is usually measured by genetics, species, or ecosystem levels. Biodiversity can be measured on a global or local scale. Depending on the scale, your results for biodiversity will be much different if you measured it based on a global scale rather than a local scale. Biodiversity varies between the species, habitat, and the location of specific animals. Biodiversity is the greatest at the equator, where biomes such as tropical rainforests are. As you away from the equator and closer to the poles, biodiversity decreases, because it gets colder. Biodiversity responds to various factors in the environment, and it is found to be decreasing more recently on the global scale. The global decline of biodiversity is caused by many factors, such as from human activities. These activities can include global warming and the introduction of invasive species. Some ways to increase biodiversity are creating cities that have space for other species, and by protecting our water sources.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bk2nnDI68g
