Childhood and loss of father ( age 9)

As a young kid Clay grew up in Karan town and lived with his mother and father. His father worked in the cole mine died of lung cancer when Clay was just 9, two years before Cabal inc introduced digital power. This caused Clay to want to be strong and prove himself by joining the Cabal soldier program and reaching the highest rank.

Military training ( age 17)

At 17 Clay joined the Cabal military training program. He worked hard and trained in the boot camp for 4 years before graduating with the top ranking soldiers in his class. He found father figures, brothers, and family in his comrades and commanding officers. He felt tight with his peers and was respected by them he also gained a sentimental trust for the Cabal corporation. When he moved into action scenarios and missions Clay proved himself and quickly ranked up to B rank being sent on more and more important missions

Karan town mission ( age 23)

Clay and his platoon were sent on a confidential mission that even he was given vague details of. While in the military transport vehicle Clay is told the mission is in Karan town, his home village. He is a high rank soldier second in command to his higher ranking officer Barron Devall. They arrive to town with the mission of getting rid of eco-terrorists who are against Cabal's control over the town and means of harvesting energy through digital energy waves. Clay and his team move through the town and find the group of terrorists. As clay moves through the town he talks to his mother who tells him about how the Cabal power plant is making the townsfolk ill and not providing jobs for the townspeople like promised. He confronts Barron about what's really going on in the town and why he wasn't given the proper information. He goes rogue and tries to avert Cabal's assault on the town but it's too late. Clay is knocked unconscious and is presumed dead. But he isn't... He wakes up to see the corpses of people he knew and the ashes of his town.

Moving to Caraval city ( Age 23 )

Clay after going Awall ends up in a sketchy part of Caraval city, a large industrial city district filled with corruption and poverty. He roams homeless for a while until one day walking through the allies of the cities red light district he sees a woman being attacked by a man who is robbing her. He fends off the robber and saves the woman, she introduces herself as Charlotte Widowheart and takes him back to a bar in the center of town where she informs him she is a part of a secret mercenary group affiliated with the terrorists in Karantown.

Clay begins to grow accustom to living within the city walls. He becomes more social and makes friends with the locals in the area growing attached to the community and people. He works as a bartender making a decent wage and living by himself in an apartment above the bar.

Cabal soldiers start to militarize where Clay is living. they begin to introduce strict taxes and mandates on citizens. Eventually residents get fed up and revolt against the soldiers. The sector of the city gets so out of control that the governor decides to flood the sector with poison gas. Clay decides to join Charlotte's terrorist organization and the two flea the city too a underground safehouse.

Joining ARM ( Age 23 )

Clay chooses to join the Terrorist organization ARM ( allied resistance militia). They made plans to go on missions to weaken Cabal co. and gave Clay a home and temporary family. They are completely secret and are located in an underground base just outside the southern wall of Caraval city.

Barron Vs Clay ( Age 24 )

Clay and a group of ARM soldiers were returning from a successful surveillance mission on a Cabal digital reactor. They were followed home by spies and a week later the ARM base was stormed by hundreds of Cabal soldiers. Barron meets Clay again... Clay recognizes Barron but Barron has forgotten who Clay was. They fight and Clay is knocked down. Charlotte attacks Barron with a sword and is stabbed by Barron. He flees as the base is exploding. Clay manages to save Charlotte and make an escape.
