The City Government of Davao has proposed a project that will most likely start at the end of 2024. This project is the Davao Public transport Modernization which aims to lessen the number of private cars which contribute to air emissions that cause global warming. The traditional public utility vehicles emitted the most amount of carbon monoxide emissions (Lu, n.d.). To combat this, the local government seeks to improve their condition on the road through the modernization of these and to generally decrease the number of cars on the road resulting to lesser polluted air in the city. This supports our goal of developing solutions to combat pollution in the 21st century.

With six other siblings, Lori and her family could no longer afford her dream of pursuing higher education.

That was when she heard about an opportunity to train at Casuga Integrated Farm School, a USAID-supported technical-vocational institution in Davao City that serves as an incubation hub for agriculture-based enterprises. Casuga Integrated Farm School received a grant from USAID to help out-of-school youth access education and skills training. Thanks to this support, Lori and 74 other out-of-school youth in the community received scholarships to study organic farming.
