In John Okada's No-No Boy the selection of specific details conveys his opinion that acquiring money is a struggle to get even for the kind hearted good people of the world. When Okada says, "enormous, white refrigerators", "massive brutally- fast cars", and "expensive clothing" to express the nice things money can buy. Okada is telling us all of the things people would like to make them happy and feel high class, but cannot afford. Okada uses words like, "heart of kindness" and "patience and forgiveness" to express how people forget about the qualities of a nice person. Finally, Okada shows his deep emotion through these words in the paragraph to express his feeling on money.

In John Okadas, No- No Boy, the selection of details coveys his opinion that money creates people who they were never meant to be. Even though money makes people this way they're not all like this. People have a heart and are good despite there need for money. When Okada says "ostensibly overwhelmed" he shows all the greed and need for money makes this man seem greedy or no good for society. This man still has a heart and goodness within him when he says, "there still beat a heart of kindness and patience and forgiveness" . This is how Okada shows us that money makes someone they aren't but even when it does the inner soul of this person is the greater good and will outlast all the bad money has turned this person into.
