I attended the UK Equine Science and Management program because it is a pathway to get to a vet school and specialize in exotic animals which is what I want to do. A horse is more wild than a cow so I took this class over animal sciences.

My why is passion. I did a year of being a computer science major and I dreaded every class relating to my major, and I realized I needed to change my path towards passion. Transferring to UK was an endeavor I took on myself and I was actually excited about and not dragging my feet like I was for my first year of college. Horses have always fascinated me, and I know a happy life for me is involving them.

What’s my why? My why is the support around me that I grew up with. When I said I wanted to ride and eventually work with horses my family and friends didn’t call me crazy, instead they supported me through the entire journey to get here. Even when I pitched moving states away to go to school for my passion, they have always supported me. Everyday I will remind myself that I am here for them, and I can do this. Also the bonus of loving horses!
