Place of purchase and price:-the blocks were purchases from the shop which supplies blocks to the factory visited (Bana Ji Block Printing) in Sanganer. The price of each block varies from Rs70 to as high as Rs2000. As block making is a time taking process and involves hand carving, so the blocks purchased were made beforehand. The total blocks were bought for Rs200 as they were small design blocks.

Design:- the design of each wooden block has authenticity of its own, difficult to choose from a wide variety of blocks, I picked up four blocks which has floral and motif type design and says its meaning of its own.

Packaging:- as the shop sells directly to the factory where block printing id done, it doesn't involve proper packaging.

• Practiced for around 500 years in the region of Rajasthan and has a community all to itself that is the Chhipa community makes block printing interesting and fascinating to me.
• Keeping it alive from generation to generation, the man Mr. Hanuman who sold me the blocks belongs to the Chhipa community and runs the 7th generation of block making for block printing factories. 
• The main factor for buying the product was it involves total handwork, starting from wood carving and making the blocks to packing the block printed fabric by hands.
• As Mr. Hanuman said " it takes time to carve one block but the end product is finalized till we who make the blocks are not satisfied before the consumer who buy the final fabric are satisfied."

Talking about block printing the hand printing craft is beautifully used by the people In Rajasthan, but it is loosing its value in its own origin but still keeps up with the market that provides digital and machine work that is screen printing. As the generation is becoming more digitized block printing is facing competition with screen printing.
Screen printing is a technique which involves machine driven print, from making the design on digital tools to printing the design on the fabric machine is involves.
as compared to block printing screen printing shows advantages of having the fabric ready in less time, it does not involve much labor force as most if the work is done through machines.

• Awareness:- since both block printing and screen printing look similar in appearance, the two could be differentiated through a tag or a key symbol which one looking at the final product could identify.
