         <title>1803-Louisiana Purchase</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The French controlled the cast middle area until Thomas Jefferson negotiated with France to buy New Orleans and the whole Louisiana territory for $15 million. Due to the new land more tension was created because this land started the argumentents between the north and the south. This event was very important because without the Louisiana purchase there wouldn't have states that have slavery and states that don't have slavery.</div>]]></description>

         <title>1845-Texas Annexation</title>

The Mexican Cession was an important event in the U.S. history because America won these states but the people are still fighting if the states are going to be a slave state or a free state.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Missouri Compromise of 1820</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The people in the north wanted missouri to be a free state while southerners wanted the state to be a slave state and had a angry debates for months. In conclusion missouri became a slave state while Maine which is part of Massachusetts became a free state so they have equal power. Also having Missouri splitting half with slave and free with the 36 degree 30 line setting the southern side slave state while the northern half free state. The people knew that this was like putting a band-aid and knew that this was going to happen again so this was the start of furious conflicts that will soon happen again and will turn into a war.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Compromise of 1850</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;The U.S and the Mexicans were at war because the U.S. wanted the land and won the war but now congress had to decide if it was going o be a slave or free states. The North wanted it to be free or have it decided by popular sovereignty. While the South wanted the new land to be slavery open or the Missouri compromise line to go all the way to the Pacific Ocean. In conclusion California became a free state while the rest of the spanish territory became a slave state yet, the more important part is that the Congress put another bandage over the states to stop the fight. People again knew that this kind of situation will happen again.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Kansas and Nebraska act is a little bit different from the other compromises because Senator Douglas wanted to divide the land. Both Northern and Southern settlers went to Kansas and Nebraska very quickly to claim the land have more votes for the popular sovereignty. Violence broke out between the two pro and anti- slavery settlers, and Kansas become known as "Bleeding Kansas".  This lead to the civil war because there was too many violence between the two different territories which made the civil war into a closer position to becoming a war.</div>]]></description>

         <title>1846-1848 Mexican War</title>

Yet after the war the Americans were fighting if the new land was going to be a slave state or free state. In the end California became a free state while the rest of the Mexican Cession was chosen by Popular Sovereignty. This event created more tension in between because both territories wanted this land to become slave or free state which made another debate which lead to the compromise of 1850.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The three fifths compromise is about enslaved people being counted into the population for representation but only three fifths of the total enslaved population per state. This lead to the civil war because this seemed unfair for the slaves and both North and South couldn't find a way to represent the population of the enslaved so they decided to only represent three fifths of they originally had.</div>]]></description>

So even if slaves who go up into the North there were slave hunters who would put the slaves back to the south. This was important because now slaves can't do anything to get themselves freedom which lead the slaves to rebel and make riots.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The slave trade clause which is also known as the important clause was congress banning the transatlantic slave trade for 20 years where the act of the congress made it through in 1800 but took effect in 1808. This was a big event for the slaves because the trade has stopped and stopped people from becoming in an unknown country. When the slaves tried to rejoice they realize that their children will automatically slaves and they can't even leave the southern territory because of the fugitive slave clause. This leads the slaves to rebel and make a greater conflict between the North and South to lead into the Civil War.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The slave insurrection act is when the executive has the power and duty to stop all "riots or insurrection" in the interests of maintaining law and order. Due to the Northerners and the Southerners always turning things to violence the executive branch had to stop them before everything and everyone will die. This meant that because of these slaves the North and South risked their life to speak their voices which lead to the civil war because it isn't as different as fighting/debating back then.</div>]]></description>

He first killed his master, master's wife, and children with axes and kill more people to show their need for liberty. This leads to the civil war because there was many slave rebellions who wanted freedom.</div>]]></description>

Without Thomas Jefferson the Americans wouldn't have moved west in the first place which led the north and the south into war.  Thomas Jefferson was kind of the part of how the Americans went into war with each other because he bought the land which increased America by two times its original size.</div>]]></description>

         <title>1854-John Brown</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>John Brown was an American abolitionist leader who was one of the most important people with the Bleeding Kansas act. he invaded Pottawattamie in the dark and dragged 5 pro-slavery men and hacked them apart with swords with his four sons. Not only that John Brown also killed a pro-slavery man and freeeded 11 slaves from that one slave owner. Later on John Brown was tried by the state of Virginia for treason and murder and was found guilty on November 2 and was executed for his deeds. Because of his trial the North and South became more tense and started to complain and argue yet again.</div>]]></description>

For example with the Kansas- Nebraska Act both of the land were open to popular sovereignty so settlers moved there so there will be more votes in their desiring side. This led to the civil war because without this then not as many violence would have erupted and&nbsp; today we won't have the voting system.</div>]]></description>

         <title>1800-Gabriel Prosser</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Gabriel Prosser was an enslaved blacksmith who planned a big rebellion in Richmond, Virgina. He is known as the first major slave rebellion in the U.S. history. Although this was a big event Gabriel Prosser was executed shortly after he stated revolting because this information was leaked to the authority, so 25 followers and himself were hanged. This was leading America into the civil war because not only is the slaves acting up but also this revolt was one of the biggest rebellion in the U.S history. Slaves were the cause of the civil war and it grew out by these multiple revolts and mad debates.</div>]]></description>
