Before i started my educaton at USN i worked as an assistant for a pupil with special needs (social need). That inspired me to become a teacher. 

The school years were rough, and I think the only reason why i managed to finish school was because of a stong and strict mother who refused to see her son fail school. I also have two siblings with Asperger's Syndrome, witch gives me an extra understanding when working with special needs children and youth.

Its very difficult to say because I`ve been learning after many years that this matter is very complex and can not only be seen isolated from other topics - and nobody are alike! Its very easy to generalize! Its many reasons causing mental health issues, therefore MI. also has to be met and treated in different ways. In example; students at school may  have the same diagnosis or difficulties but has to be met in to totally different ways.

I believe that in todays society (across borders maybe as well?) its still very taboo with mental health and personal issues. Its very personal, and therefore staff/teachers should be more trained and informed with how to meet everyone with their different backgrounds, and also to make it easier to seek help. It is no such a thing as a "template" for us to fit in.

In an internship last year, I was working in a "boarding school" (1 year, where students live at the school together), where there was a lot of focus on; how the room was decorated, how noice cancelling it was, how the levels were between teacher, pedagog and student and when to take the right brakes, which made me wonder.

How can we make school a great and comfortable place to be for young people, when is the right time to do something, and when is it enough?
