         <description><![CDATA[<div>A new partnership between CMC Research Institutes and Foresight Cleantech Accelerator looks to give a leg-up to Canadian entrepreneurs developing carbon capture and conversion technologies. <br><br></div><div>Foresight CEO Jeanette Jackson says interest in the carbon capture and conversion sector is trending, and there is an opportunity for Canada to step into a leadership role for exporting these technologies.<br><br></div><div>Entrepreneurs in Western Canada need to reduce time-to-market and ensure rapid and reliable validation of their technology to capitalize on a global market estimated at $800 billion, says CMCRI president and CEO Sandra Odendahl.<br><br></div><div>“Our partnership with Foresight allows us to support innovators to build and market these technologies,” Odendahl said in a statement.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>1. Canadarm:</strong> arguably Canada’s <a href="https://www.thestar.com/life/2012/11/13/canadarm_celebrated_in_google_doodle.html">most famous</a> international achievement, the 15-metre Canadarm made its space debut on the Space Shuttle Columbia in 1981. It was built by MDA Space Missions in Brampton and its full name is Shuttle Remote Manipulator System. <a href="https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2008/01/10/the_starspangled_canadarm.html">Over 30 years</a>, it flew aboard 91 shuttle missions, capturing satellites from orbit and launching others, moving huge payloads to the International Space Station and acting as a platform for astronauts on 115 space walks. The Canadarm 2, which followed in 2001, built the International Space Station in space.</div>]]></description>
