Rather than placing students in strands that don't align with their interests, we could consider duplicating the most popular courses and eliminating those that receive limited enrolment. I wonder if this might address a concern for some teachers and could help uphold the integrity of the program, as it would minimise the number of students in classes they are less enthusiastic about. As a side effect, this might positively impact attendance rates.
