Social Development- students come to better understand their fellow human beings, develop productive social skills and interpersonal relationships

Temperament-  his or her general tendency to respond to and deal with events in particular ways. 

Identity- a self- constructed definition of who they are, what things thy find important and what goals they want to accomplish in life. 

Subculture- group that resists the ways of dominant culture and adopts its own norms and behaviors.

Prosocial Behavior- behavior aimed at benefiting others more than oneself.

Morality- one’s general standards regarding right and wrong behaviors.

Sympathy- Children only assume another person’s feelings but also have concerns for the individual’s well-being.

Moral Dilemmas- situations in which two or more people’s rights or needs may be at odds and for which there are no clear- cut or wrong responses.

The important functions of the promotion is to
  • Provide a testing ground for emerging social skills — this allows the children to communicate with others to see where they feel comfortable and puts them in situations where they have to handle it themselves.
  • Introduction to new cognitive and physical skills—  this allows the students to pay attention to what is going on process the info and remember it , doing that the child is able to handle the task at hand. Physical they are able to speak and process their emotions based off their newly learned cognitive skills.
  • Offer emotional stability and supports when they are in trouble or uncertain about things— this is done from either a teacher stepping in and handling situations, and this can also be done by another child when needed.
  • Promote socially and culturally appropriate behaviors — This gives the child the opportunity to learn what is right and wrong and how to change the way they handle situations and talk to others.

As children change so does their social groups, romantic relationships, and everything else in between they are really finding in this time whether they fit in and where they fit in . This gives them opportunities to build relationships and friendships, with being involved in these communities it involves them to use social skills and communication that can either lead to aggression or happiness.

Self views usually turn into different believes, how they judge others, and feelings about theirselves and others. The problem with this is opinions usually take on actions, this can either be good or bad and can this can change how a child matures.

These change based necessarily off the child. So a child’s temperament will never be exactly like another students but, there will be similarities in the categories that bring the child to a group or identity of individualism.

Adapting classroom practices will be based on the children in the class. This is a notice pf their temperament and personality when certain assignments are assigned.
