Assistive technology is crucial and necessary in all classrooms for a variety of reasons. Firstly, no student is created equal, and therefore cannot be treated that way! They are entitled to equal opportunity and education- which sometimes means a particular student needs more help/tools. There is no reason a student with any sort of disability shouldn't be able to access the same education that a student without a disability has access to. Assistive technology allows for more inclusive and effective classrooms. Effective for all students!!

Differentiated instruction is important in every classroom because not every student receives information in the same way. Lectured material may work for one student, whereas hands on activities may work for the student sitting next to them. It's only fair that teachers offer a little bit of everything. This way students have the same chance at success in the classroom! Like assistive technology, differentiated instruction allows for a more inclusive and effective classroom.
