The Sistine Chaple's ceiling and walls were painted by many vairous artists around the 15th century. The most famous of which being The Creation of Adam. Which is only comparable to Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa.

The Statue of David

Battle of Cascina

The painting was commissioned from Michelangelo by Piero Soderini, Statesman  of the Democratic of Florence. It was intended to wall of the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio. The opposite wall was to be decorated by Leonardo da Vinci, who was commissioned to depict the Battle of Anghiari. The two battles were notable medieval Florentine victories.

Madonna of Bruges

Michelangelo's depiction of the Madonna and Child differs significantly from earlier representation of the same subject, which tended to feature a pious Virgin smiling down on an infant held in her arms. Instead, Jesus stands upright, almost unsupported, only loosely restrained by Mary's left hand, and appears to be about to step away from his mother. Meanwhile, Mary does not cling to her son or even look at him, but gazes down and away. It is believed the work was originally intended for an altar piece.
