I think this is a hard one to balance. I know some kindergarten teachers that struggle with technology because kids sometimes have a hard time with separating technology and life. Students struggle with focusing when technology isn't involved because they are so use to something flashing or fireworks going off the instant gratification of doing something right. I think that for somethings technology would be extremely helpful, but trying to implement both with or without is important.

I believe that since Kindergartners have such a short attention span, that a lot of the content should be in lecture or on paper. This way, it is easier for you as a teacher to keep them in line and monitor them. Although, I do believe that they should be exposed to some technology in your classroom. Like another post said, technology is all around us and we should expose them to it as early as possible.

I believe that Kindergartners should still have lectures and where they do work and even some homework on paper. But it also good to introduce them to some new technology but not where they are completely tied to it. If the students are already used to technology, they will not be exposed to the old school learning.

I think there are many opportunities for Kindergartners to learn in a classroom through technology. The students can learn alphabet sounds, identify letters through games, math, listen/read a book, music appreciation, etc.

While Kindergartners are very young, in this fast paced world getting students introduced to technology soon is very helpful. While I personally think that smartphones are not necessary, I do think that getting them working with computers in the classroom would be helpful.

Getting students use to technology and the proper way to use it and conduct themselves should start sooner rather than later. Most kindergarten students have been raised with some sort of technology at their finger tips. Why not take the knowledge they already have and expand up on it.
