It is through our genetic inheritance that we determine our phenotypic and genotypic outcomes. For Matthew and Jane, it appears that they received some over all recessive genes, but others were dominant as well. I think this divide is why one is left handed while the other is right handed.

We think Samantha's biological parents would have blonde hair as we remember from previous experiences, that blonde hair is recessive. They could have been a mix as well, but for sake of argument, we'll say that they are blonde. I also think they both must have had blue eyes or green eyes, therefore they have that recessive trait which was passed on to Samantha. We think the same goes for the presence of freckles but as for being right handed, it would seem that is a dominant trait.

It would appear that the two individual sperm that fertilized the two eggs carried different genes. I know, from being a twin that fraternal means that two separate sperm fertilized two individual eggs. Identical twins occur when one egg splits into two after being fertilized. For that reason, it would seem that is the basis for why Jazmyn and Cheyenne seem to be very different.

First, it seems Gene is very presumptuous, but that's neither here nor there. As for his wish, I don't think there's much of a chance for curly hair, just because neither he nor Alyssa have curly hair. This is just a guess, if we're being honest, but we don't think it is possible. For blue eyes, that's is a possibility, but with Alyssa's brown eyes, it could be hard to have a child with blue eyes. We think Gene should just be happy to have a healthy baby and stop being so picky.
