" This shows how the main character Katniss was telling her hunting partner Gale, to not let their district starve because they would hunt illegally to find food for the district, due to the fact there was little to no food in the district they lived in. My least favorite part was when I realized Katniss thought Peeta was putting on a "love show" just for the audience because, in reality, Peeta loves Katniss, but she doesn't realize it. My favorite character was Rue because I could relate to her, and she was so innocent and I don't think she should've died the way she did.
If I could change one thing, it would be to change the person who won to Rue because I feel like the book could've had a turning point where Katniss dies and Rue has to live on and win the games. One technique the author used that I liked was imagery because Katniss did that a lot and it just revealed more of her character by showing what she felt with her connections to past events. One example of this is chapter 7, page 86 "My slumbers are filled with a disturbing dream. The face of the redheaded girl intertwines with gory images from earlier Hunger Games, with my mother withdrawn and unreachable, with Prim emaciated and terrified. I bolt up screaming for my father to run as the mine explodes into a million deadly bits of light. I would recommend this book because if you like a book that has excitement, romance, and tons of action, this book is exactly what you are looking for.

At the start of the novel, Peeta is someone who is in love, but he doesn't think the girl knows about it yet. I know this because the text mentions "Well, there is this one girl. I've had a crush on her ever since I can remember. But I'm pretty sure she didn't know I was alive till the reaping." During the events that unfold, Peeta intentionally lets the capital, and the girl, know who the lucky lady is. This can be seen in chapter 10 when it states "The star-crossed lovers from district 12, your all they're talking about." At the end of the novel, Peeta is heartbroken by fake love. This information is shown when the novel expresses "So, what you're saying is, these last few days and then I guess . . . back in the arena . . . that was just some strategy you worked out." And later it also reads " It was all for the games, Peeta says. How toy acted." To sum it up Peeta goes from a man who is in love with a woman who has no idea who he even is, to someone who shared moments with her, that turned out to be fake. A man who is heartbroken.
