2020 stay-home orders have caused a wave of "uncertaintity" and "loss of interest," in everyday life. Staying at home might become the new norm but lack of intrest should not be one of them. The human mind needs to have curosities, even if they can not interact with the rest of the world. This exhibtion, contains a collection of house-ware, not disaplyed in the traditional way. In honor of making the best out of a not-so good situation, these antiques/objects to follow are tools that can spark the curosity of the mind. All objects can actaully be utilized or displayed for that ongoing spark of curosity.

Originaiting from Greek and Roman Temple in 17th century.

Since the Renisssance Period, this object has been dispalyed for its "miraculous powers." First seen as a treasury for the Medieval Church and later in cabinets of curiosities. The curosity came from the unknown origin of the coconut and therefore, thought to have some medical effect. In the Renissance period, these objects were mostly used as a way to "cleanse" its containments. This enacted people to pour their drink in it when they think it might have been poisioned or when an object is thought to have a curse on it.

https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/193595?searchField=All&sortBy=Relevance&ft=exotic+coconut&offset=0&rpp=20&pos=1

17th Century

Goa stones come from Bezoar stones, which are natural elements that were first taken intrest on during the 17th century for their "curative properties." The inside of the case holds the actual stone but should not be opened unless in use. This is for preservation purposes. The Bezoar stone comes from "hardened spherical deposit of indigestible material that forms in the gastrointestinal tract of hoofed animals." Goa stones were made artifically with other properties that were not natural ar all. During the 17th century before medicine, Bezoar and Goa stone's were the best way to heal someone that has been poisioned. A piece of the stone could either be ingested directly or dropped into a drink to dissolve.

https://slate.com/human-interest/2016/08/goa-stones-were-man-made-bezoars-that-were-said-to-cure-poison.html
