This will increase students' sense of importance in the classroom by treating them as individuals rather than simply students in school, as their ways of life at home should be respected in the classroom. Teachers must also show respect towards the beliefs, values, and culture of students and their families to ensure that they feel safe in expressing their identities. There are a variety of ways teachers can encourage family involvement, such as inviting students' families in to be classroom volunteers, attend informative sessions about their child's learning, or even doing a show-and-tell event. Families should have choices about the ways in which they would like to become involved in the classroom, and teachers should also provide options for families who want to help their students from home rather than coming into the school. 
Often teachers find there is no happy medium when it comes to the parent's involvement, according to the Kids Health Guide. Some parents won’t be seen for the entire school year, no matter what sort of issues might occur. Others never seem to go away, hovering over the child and teacher and interfering with the education process. There are ways parents can become involved and support their child’s education at the same time, but teachers don’t always get that level from parents.

It supports the social-emotional, cognitive and physical development of children. When teachers and parents are willing to work together, they form a bond between the student, teacher and parent. Having this close relationship encourages students to stay engaged and stay being ready to learn. Parents and teachers are able to stay involved in their students lives both in and outside the classroom. This gives  the parents the opportunity to spend time not only the student but with teachers. For holidays, allowing students parents to come in on special holidays to help students with holiday activities. For birthday, allowing students parents to come in at the end of the day to celebrate their child's birthday in the class. They can make and bring desserts, candy, goodie bags etc, to give out to the classroom. Teachers may wish to host a project-display activity, where families can come in and see the major pieces of work and art the students have created.
