1) "The US was playing desperate catch-up. Actually, not one but 11 Lucky Dragon fisherman, nearly half the 23-man crew, died of radiation sickness--a detail not likely to have checked the Teller's shrug." Radiation is very dangerous and has major impacts on peoples' health the US was just testing hastily, not really checking thoroughly that no one was in radius that would be affected by it, in an attempt to have equal military power as an opposing country.

2) "It is unreasonable to make such a big deal...this reminds us that individuals
count as naught..." the effects nuclear testing has on individuals don't matter to a huge nation like the US who wants the best nuclear bombs so they can have the best military artillery. It doesn't matter what the effects it has on individual people from other nations or even people of its own nation, it matters if they're the best and they can flaunt it.

3) "Irradiated humans, irradiated food, haphazardly revised safety standards..." governments will lie and change things for their own benefit. In order to continue nuclear testing, they will change the safe level of radiation in the fish in a short amount of time. This is most likely propaganda because that is hard to believe that the safe level would change that abruptly with no "rhyme or reason"

1) "It is not possible to be a scientist unless you believe that it is good to learn" Oppenheimer believes that nuclear testing is good for science and that there should be control on using it violently but that the control of it shouldn't mean the end of nuclear testing completely

2) "that without atomic weapons it might be very difficult, it might be an impossible..." atomic weapons were a positive because they could protect us and help us to win the war that we otherwise could not

3) "control of atomic weapons cannot be in itself the unique end of such an operation..." nuclear testing is good in terms of science and shouldn't be ended just for the overuse and misuse of it in war and in testing.

1) "Fallout from Bravo was consequently much larger than had been anticipated...a number of people living on these islands developed radiation burns and many were evacuated from their homes"

2) "the isotope is likely to make the island..." nuclear testing is pretty impactful if it makes a people's island, that used to be their home, uninhabitable for a century. It effects the ways those people live their life and where the place they called home at a point.

3) "Bravo turned out to be the largest explosion..." if a single bomb is more effective than all the bombs used in previous wars, that is extremely lethal and could kill an great amount of innocent people either in testing from radiation sickness or if it was brought to war it could kill many innocent people in the range of the bomb.

1)"Born just nine years after the A-bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki...Godzilla wasn't just Japan's answer to King Kong but a grave warning about the folly of nuclear testing and proliferation" The movie alludes to the horribleness of nuclear testing and the effects it has had on Japan

2) "'I can't believe Godzilla is the only survivor of its species,' intones an old scientist. "If we continue testing H-bombs..." H bombs are dangerous and they are what created/awoke Godzilla it showers the "monsters" of nuclear testing and shows how it ruins the lives of people affected by it.

3) "The theme of the film, from the beginning, was the terror of the bomb. Mankind had created the bomb, and now nature was going to take revenge on Mankind" The result of using nuclear testing comes back to bite us. Nuclear testing has a bad effect on the environment and the people and animals who are within range of the fallout.

The US lied about the radiation even though some citizens dies from it they don't care because the nuclear testing is for their benefit and it doesn't matter to them because the negatives doesn't affect them

2) "in spite of burns, blisters and nausea, 'It has been found that the tests..." the government wasn't correct about the safe level of radiation because despite what they said people who had "safe levels" they were still getting sick

3) "It was the first time a federal court had determined that nuclear tests had been the cause of cancers" It took long to prove although the were many cases were it was very likely that the cause of the cancer was radiation. Also if radiation causes cancer that is another danger of nuclear testing

This alludes to the nuclear bombings in Japan and the negative effects it had on its people.

2) It alludes to the "Lucky Dragon" and the effects on the Lucky Dragon's crew from the dropping of an H-bomb

3) in the end it suggests that another monster like Godzilla will show up if the continue to drop H bombs. This is comparing to in real life if we continue nuclear testing it will turn into a new monster because they all have their disadvantages
