I admire the fact that Emma González and Yip Pin Xiu are both very persistent in sharing to society. They are brave and not afraid to speak up and they also want to inspire and influence others. They want to make their story known to the whole world. They are also very resilient and do not give up pursuing their goals.

Q1. Two benefits of capital punishments are that it gives the victim’s family closure and discourages repeated criminal offences. The two cons however that some maybe me wrongfully executed and to the public, there is the question of morality.

Q2. The benefits of putting money in banks are earning the compound interest, it is now easy to invest through the banks and banks keep our money safe.

Q3. Some of the ways to reducing waste in the environment are being conscious of ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ educate ourselves about the environment and being intentional about our buying.

What prevented me from getting a higher grade?

I had some expression issues in my Discursive essay and that led to a decrease in my marks.

What can I do to do better?

Grammar takes time to improve and I will continue to practise with my Editing book and read more complex books.

How do I feel about my first grade in English?

I feel many emotions about my grade. Firstly, I feel happy as I am the one among the few who got the highest grade in my class. That made me feel a sense of accomplishment and I also feel proud. However, I also feel disappointed as I was one mark away from getting an A1. I could have easily obtained an A1 if I had improved my vocabulary and grammar in time. I had a lot of expression issues in my Discursive essay and that left me with a sense of deep regret knowing that I could have done better. Lastly, I am inspired to do better in English. Discursive essays consist of essential skills that we need in English daily, such as grammar and vocabulary. I am fueled to improve my English and this will drive me to work harder.

I liked going to the arcade almost daily to meet up and play with my friends. I went to the arcade to play as it helps me to de-stress from the thoughts of examinations and it was also a great opportunity to catch up with friends over the short holidays. Through arcade games, I have built back lost friendships and have also strengthened the friendships I have. Going to the arcade allows me to escape reality by indulging myself in the expansive choices of arcade games, letting me relax for the short period of the holidays.

I disliked going to tuition and doing homework. My tuition is very early in the morning in the weekends, resulting in me neglecting my sleep in order to wake up on time for tuition. I have no time to eat before tuition so I had to attend tuition with a hungry stomach. I also did homework throughout the holidays and found it very tedious. It is very time-consuming and takes away the fun in learning. It took me a long time to complete my homework and I was burnt out by the amount of work I had done.

Would you be keen to pick up an extreme sport? Why or why not?

Yes, I would be keen to pick up an extreme sport. As I am a person who is driven by adrenaline, an extreme sport will make me feel excitement and thrill. Extreme sports especially appeal to me as I am adventurous and love to try new activities. For example, I would like to pick up skydiving as I am a daredevil and love heights. The sensation will be immeasurable as I dive down rapidly in the air with wind gushing against me at high speeds. The breath-taking view of the sky would also be mesmerising as I look out of the plane window hovering in the clouds from high above. Skydiving would be a once in a lifetime experience that I definitely would want to try when I get older. Thus, taking up an extreme sport will give me a great sense of delectation and an immense feeling of pleasure. On the other hand, I would understand why some people might not be keen on taking up an extreme sport. Extreme sports are not for the faint-hearted and require massive amounts of courage and bravery. Extreme sports also carry life-threatening risks. One small mistake and you could be clinging on to dear life. For example, extreme sports have claimed the precious lives of many people. People are intimidated by these threatening risks and feel petrified, fearing that the next victim might be themselves. Thus, I can understand why people would not want to pick up an extreme sport as it is dangerous. Therefore, although some people might not want to try extreme sports, I would absolutely like to try an extreme sport.
